Maura Higgins Forgives Rob Rausch for ‘Traitors’ Betrayal After He Dropped Thousands on Her
Maura Higgins admitted she felt betrayed by close ally Rob Rausch after The Traitors. Higgins felt confident that Rausch was, like her, a faithful on the popular competition series. In reality, Rausch was a traitor, which he revealed to a stunned Higgins on the season finale. Rausch ultimately made it up to her by gifting her a Birkin bag.
Maura Higgins forgave Rob Rausch after he gifted her a Birkin bag
On the season finale of The Traitors, Higgins and Rausch were the last two standing. Higgins attempted to fake out Rausch by pretending to be a traitor. He then brutally turned the tables on her by revealing that he was actually a traitor.
“You can clearly see on the screen. I went through every emotion under the sun. I was in complete disbelief. I was in shock. Then got angry, then I looked sad, and then I just forgave,” Higgins told USA Today before adding, “I don’t forgive fully until I get my Birkin.”
Because Higgins didn’t get any of the $220,800 cash prize, Rausch promised to get her a Birkin bag as an apology. He gifted it to her on an episode of Watch What Happens Live! Higgins described the bag, which cost a minimum of $13,500, as “beautiful,” and told Rausch, “You’re forgiven.”
Rob Rausch said Lisa Rinna helped him pick out the bag for Maura Higgins
Birkin bags are notoriously difficult to find. They are not mass-produced, so the supply can’t keep up with the demand for the iconic bag. Luckily, Rausch had Lisa Rinna on his side. He gave her “all the credit” for helping him secure the bag.
“As soon as I told her about it, she was like, ‘I will help you,'” he told People. “She’s a very well-connected woman, and she did it. She gave me all her resources and originally I was going to get it from a guy in Paris. I was going to actually have to go to Paris, which I was going to do. But now we got someone in New York City, and it’s going to be great.”
With Rinna’s help, Rausch was able to meet Higgins’ requirements.
“She told me immediately she wanted burgundy with gold accent, size 30,” he said.
He shared his plans for the prize money
Rausch admitted that he has not yet received his check for winning The Traitors. He said that when he does receive it, he wants to use it to benefit his family.
“My oldest sister has Down syndrome, so she’ll always need a little extra help,” he said. “Knowing that I can help with that is amazing. It’s a great feeling that she has security. Obviously, my parents will always help with that, but it’s just good to know it’s never going to be something I’m going to have to worry about.”
He also plans to invest in a business he has with another sister.
“My other sister, I have a business with her, and it’ll be great to be able to put some more money into that and invest in her because she’s so talented and smart, and she loves making clothes,” he said. “I just want to see her thrive in that and for her to be happy in that way.”
