Megan Thee Stallion Is Not on Team Mr. Big: ‘Friend, No, Stop!”
When you think of celebrities, you rarely think of them watching TV and having opinions about characters and shows. Megan Thee Stallion proved that celebrities, no matter how busy they are, still find time to watch popular shows. They get invested in them as well. The famed rapper appeared on a podcast over the summer and revealed just how deep she is into the Sex and the City fandom. She has one Sex and the City opinion that won’t be popular, though; Megan Thee Stallion is not on team Mr. Big. It’s a pretty hot take.
Megan Thee Stallion hates Mr. Big
Sex and the City fans have always been divided when it comes to Carrie Bradshaw’s love life. While some fans are on Team Mr. Big, others were staunchly against him as Carrie’s forever love. Megan Thee Stallion was totally against Mr. Big as Carrie’s long-term partner. She called the character ‘toxic’ during her June appearance on Are You a Charlotte?.
Earlier this summer, Megan Thee Stallion sat down with Kristin Davis to talk Sex and the City, and her take on Mr. Big was pretty hot. She said not only did she hate Mr. Big, she hated that Carrie’s friends, aside from Miranda, didn’t intervene. The music artist said she was shocked that none of her friends said, “friend, no, stop, you’re trying to change something that can’t be changed.” She went on to say that trying to change Mr. Big was like trying to make the sky “not be blue.”
Megan Thee Stallion also revealed that she actually is on Team Aidan. She said that, in her opinion, Aidan Shaw was the correct choice. He was stable, he was safe, and he wasn’t running around town on Carrie. While Carrie always felt something was missing with Aidan, the rapper thinks they could have figured it out.
She’s had toxic relationships, too
Megan Thee Stallion might have a personal reason for hating Sex and the City’s Mr. Big and the way Carrie continued to run back to him. During her chat with Davis, Megan admitted that she might see a bit of herself in Carrie. How the sex columnist interacted with Mr. Big hit a little too close to home. She admitted she was familiar with toxic men and the complicated nature of that type of relationship. She even revealed that she’s prone to “chase” after a man who is fun and sexy, but is saying no, rather than settle down with a man who is giving her the princess treatment.
While Megan Thee Stallion didn’t name any names when talking about the toxic men in her life during the podcast appearance, she has discussed her toxic relationships in the past. In 2020, she took to Instagram Live to discuss a 2015 mugshot. She revealed that she and a “toxic” ex got into a fight because she learned he was cheating on her. She claims she learned he had a child with another woman from his texts. People covered the story at the time.
She was also briefly linked to Tory Lanez. While Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion have denied a romantic relationship, rumors continue to swirl that they were involved in a love triangle when Lanez shot her in the foot. He is serving ten years in prison for the crime. Still, he has long insisted he wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger on the “Savage” rapper.
Her love life has since taken a turn for the better, it seems.
