Meghan Markle Has 2 Demands for Prince Harry’s Family Before She Agrees to End Rift With Them
Months after Prince Harry expressed a desire to see his father following the duke’s unsuccessful bid to reinstate his full-time security, King Charles and his youngest son did have a face-to-face meeting.
On Sept. 10, the two met at the monarch’s Clarence House residence in London for a little less than an hour. Details of their meeting have not been leaked to the press, which is something the Palace likely wanted. Now, there’s hope that the ice between them has thawed, and the king and the prince are headed for a reconciliation. There’s even been talk that Harry wants to make more trips to the U.K. to see his father.
While the Duke of Sussex might get back in King Charles’ good graces, many wonder what that means for his wife, Meghan Markle, who had her own battles with certain royals. She hasn’t returned to the country since 2022.
According to an expert, the former Suits star has two demands she would like the royals to meet. If they agree to these requests, then she’ll return with her husband and begin healing their family rift.
Meghan’s demands for the royals in order for her to forgive and forget
Meghan could very well support Prince Harry’s decision to reconcile with his father. However, the fact that she hasn’t been back to the country in years makes many believe that perhaps she’s not ready to move on.
Royal expert and author Tom Quinn previously spoke to The Mirror. He said there are two things Meghan needs before she agrees to heal the rift and put the past behind them.
Quinn told the publication that the duchess ultimately wants Harry’s relatives to be “nicer” to her and “apologize” before she can move on. He explained, “Until she feels that the royal family has been sufficiently nice to her — and grovelingly apologized for the past — it’s not going to happen.”
But certain royals may never forgive the duchess
Two royals don’t feel they owe Meghan anything: Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton). Moreover, the future king and queen aren’t keen on a reconciliation with Harry at the moment either.
A source close to the Prince of Wales told The Daily Beast that William still feels extremely angry over the things Harry said about him in interviews. He’s also still upset about what Harry claimed in the Netflix documentary and his memoir, Spare.
“William feels utterly betrayed … He hates Harry for what he has done to the family in the books and interviews,” the insider said. “It’s no secret William would prefer it if Harry never stepped foot in England again.”
Regarding Meghan, the Waleses’ pals said neither Princess William nor Kate gives their sister-in-law a second thought these days. They have had bigger things to worry about, including the princess’s cancer diagnosis in 2024. William and Kate’s friends have said Meghan is the last thing they have thought about over the past several months. And William is just fine with keeping the duke and duchess out of the royal fold for good.
“The feeling is that allowing the Sussexes back into the fold is a bad move, and they should be resigned to the fringes indefinitely,” an insider told OK Magazine.
