After Meghan Markle stepped down from her role as a working royal and moved back to the U.S., she’s had quite a few career changes. The former Suits actor has tried her hand at a number of different ventures, including producing content, hosting a podcast, starring in a reality series, writing a children’s book, and launching a lifestyle brand.

Prince Harry’s wife has faced criticism for attempting to manage too many, often conflicting, projects simultaneously. Now, there’s chatter that Meghan is trying to reshape her career and stick to an area in which she can be taken seriously.

Experts believe Meghan will be looking to use popular podcasts as a way to get the word out to audiences about her projects. First up, she will be headlining a women’s retreat in Australia in April for the Her Best Life podcast. And a PR expert predicts that the duchess will be looking to appear on one of the biggest podcasts in the U.S. next.

Kayley Cornelius is a celebrity PR specialist and brand strategist, known for her expertise in media, pop culture, and influencer culture. She specializes in crisis PR, traditional PR, celebrity branding, and brand reputation, advising on reputation management and public perception. Cornelius’ commentary and analysis on celebrity branding, reality TV stars, influencers, and high-profile relationships have been featured in the New York Post, Elle, the Daily Mail, the BBC, and more.

Speaking on behalf of Action Network about the next chapter in Meghan’s career, Cornelius told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Meghan Markle appears to be entering a new era where she is actively trying to shape a brand that exists independently from her royal background. Over the past few years, we have seen her gradually move further into the lifestyle and media space, and podcasting feels like a natural extension of that strategy because it allows her to speak directly to audiences and control the narrative around her work.

“With reports that she will be making appearances internationally, including a live podcast appearance in Australia soon, it shows she is clearly looking to expand her presence beyond the States … I believe she will likely have her eyes on a much bigger opportunity, and one of the most obvious platforms would be Call Her Daddy. The podcast has become one of the most influential interview platforms in recent years and has already hosted major global figures, including Victoria Beckham and Kamala Harris, and that is the caliber of company Meghan will likely want to be associated with.”

Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alex Cooper, is consistently ranked as one of the top, most-listened-to podcasts in the U.S. for women.

According to Cornelius, “From a PR perspective, appearing on an established podcast like Call Her Daddy would also be a particularly strategic move. The show already commands a huge international audience, and importantly the demographics of its listeners are not too dissimilar from the audiences that already follow Meghan. That overlap means the conversation would likely resonate well with listeners while also introducing her to a wider group who may not have previously engaged with her work.”

So what are the odds that Meghan will be a guest on Call Her Daddy in the near future? Action Network puts those odds at 6/1, with a 60% probability it will happen.
