Meghan Markle Seemingly Admits That Her As Ever Jams ‘Weren’t as Successful as She Had Hoped’
After more than a year delay and a name change, Meghan Markle released the first products from her As Ever lifestyle brand in April.
The collection included raspberry jam, honey, flower sprinkles, teas, and cookie mix, which completely sold out in less than an hour. The former Suits star posted about the success of her launch, but some thought that was misleading and accused the duchess of only producing a small amount that was available for purchase.
The speculation about the success of her brand launch intensified when Meghan hinted that she may not be restocking those products. Here’s more on that, and the mistake fans noticed in As Ever’s recent post.
Meghan says she’ll take a ‘step back’ to assess her As Ever brand
During an interview with Fast Company, Meghan made some cryptic comments about the future of her brand and the products it offers. The Duchess of Sussex told the outlet that she and the Netflix team made the decision that As Ever could exist on its own, without any branding from the streaming giant. That explains why the line isn’t calledWith Love, Meghan like her show.
“The brand is in the same universe as the show, but they’re not the same,” Meghan noted.
The duchess also revealed that she wants to take a “step back” and “gather data” from the initial launch to further assess what the As Ever brand could be, and that new products will be announced in 2026.
“I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever,” Meghan shared. “But as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer’s needs are seasonally.”
Prince Harry’s biographer, Angela Levin, spoke to Talk TV about how it makes no sense for Meghan to reassess her brand if it really was so successful.
The author said she was told As Ever “only put out 10 jars” of product to begin with, before adding, “It’s been a disaster, they spent a year planning it. [Meghan] doesn’t know anything about business. Nobody would become the CEO of what she was making so she took it on … she hasn’t done it properly; that’s what it is.”
Fans point out mistake in As Ever’s post following Meghan’s cryptic comments
Following the duchess’s comments, As Ever shared a photo on the brand’s official Instagram account of Meghan’s beagle, Mia, poking her head in the basket full of vegetables and captioned the pic: “The unofficial quality inspector of this morning’s garden haul.”
However, several eagle-eyed followers noticed that something didn’t seem right with the image.
Many social media users were left scratching their heads, wondering how Meghan could possibly grow all those different vegetables in the same season.
“Huh. She’s so good at gardening she can grow all things from all seasons at once,” one person wrote.
Another added: “It’s way too early in the season for most of those vegetables to be grown in her garden and ready to pick.”
And third user said: “Who is harvesting corn in May? It’s pretty early for squash and peppers too.”
