Meghan Markle’s Former Bestie Jessica Mulroney Now ‘Regrets’ Her Friendship With the Duchess of Sussex
When Meghan Markle started dating Prince Harry, she was best friends with Jessica Mulroney. The women met in 2011 and became very close. The former Suits star even tapped each of Jessica’s three children to be in her royal wedding, and the two remained tight for years.
Jessica also made a quick, blink-and-you-missed-it appearance in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, but they did not stay friends. Between lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter accusing Jessica of racism and claiming she threatened the influencer’s career to the Canadian stylist being called out for exhibiting “white privilege” during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, Meghan decided to cut Jessica off completely. And there were reports that when the duchess stopped speaking to her, it caused tensions in Jessica’s marriage with her husband, Ben Mulroney.
Now, they are getting a divorce, and a source is claiming that fact has Meghan’s former pal regretting their entire friendship.

Ben, who is the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, has been married to Jessica for 16 years and they share their daughter, Ivy, and twin sons, Brian and John. The two were once considered a “power couple” in Toronto, and there have been some suggestions that Meghan initially became friends with Mulroney to advance her own career and status.
Gossip columnist Shinan Govani told the Daily Mail: “The Jessica Mulroney relationship was key in that it opened up Meghan’s world. It’s what connected her to people like [the then Canadian premier] Justin Trudeau and Sophie, and also to Markus Anderson, the global membership director of Soho House.”
And now insiders are revealing that Jessica has woken up, realized that, and wishes her friendship with Meghan had never happened.
“If she could go back, a part of her wishes she was never part of the wedding,” a source told the outlet. “Jessica says now that she somewhat regrets becoming friends with Meghan. While she enjoyed all the exposure it brought her at the time, that same exposure is what caused her social media rift to blow up in the way it did and led to the end of her friendship with Meghan and her marriage.
“She really did consider Meghan family. But now she sees that whole time as a ‘dark cloud.'”

“Jessica is not yet openly indicating she’s ready to sit down and dish the dirt on Meghan, but the possibility is always there and it’s a big panic for Meghan,” an insider told The Mirror. “The feeling is that she and Harry have both been very fortunate until now. They haven’t had a tell-all to contend with — at least not from within their close circle of friends and former friends.
“But there’s a real prospect of other people with an axe to grind from her and Harry’s past coming forward to get revenge and humiliate them. This is the kind of thing that gives Meghan sleepless nights. If [Jessica] were to suddenly decide to change her stance and speak out, it would be crushing for Meghan.”
