Meghan Markle’s Plan to Outshine Sister-in-Law Kate Revealed
Six years after stepping down from their royal duties and taking a “freedom flight” to the U.S., Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surprised everyone with the announcement that they were moving back to the U.K.
With everything the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said about why they left Britain in the first place, and his insistence that he wouldn’t bring his family back because it wasn’t safe, many were left wondering why they decided to return.
There’s been speculation that the two moved back because they ran out of money and want to have their full-time, taxpayer-funded police protection restored. Now, it’s being reported that Meghan has another personal goal in mind for her return, and it’s to outshine her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton).
The insider told Woman’s Day that Meghan has been “leaning into” a specific strategy in hopes it would boost her As Ever brand.
They explained, “She is deliberately biding her time and staying out of sight intentionally, but she’s also got plenty of things keeping her busy. When she does start stepping out more, the hope is that she’ll have built up enough anticipation that people will be excited to see her, rather than having her everywhere right away and the public getting sick of her.”
The source added that once the duchess is back in the spotlight, she’s hoping for a “fantastic reception” and to outshine the Princess of Wales, saying, “Make no mistake, that is the goal.”
Kate, meanwhile, has just been carrying on with her royal duties. During a recent visit to Pulborough Village Hall, which is ironically located in the county of West Sussex, an expert noted that she’s been handling herself well despite the drama of having Meghan and Harry back in town.
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “With Kate, we’ve got somebody who comes across as incredibly internally confident. She’s very humble and respectful of other people, so she’s extremely socially aware in her non-verbal communication, but she also has this quiet confidence in the way she carries herself.
“You can see it in the way she moves. She has quite a big stride, almost like she’s marching, and she’s clearly very comfortable and experienced when it comes to attending events on her own, without William. Unlike some public figures, who can display signs of nervousness in these situations, Kate appears very at ease. There’s a natural sense of purpose in the way she moves and interacts with people.”
The expert added, “Kate is developing a skill and ability that the late Queen had. She’s an expert at showing people that, although she’s a princess, she’s also a human being who is genuinely interested in connecting with the people around her. Whether that’s through a conversation, a photograph, or another interaction, she appears very comfortable making that connection, and I think that’s becoming a real strength in her body language.”
