We’ve seen the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) in mom mode on a few occasions. One that comes to mind is when she was trying to control a rambunctious Prince Louis during the late queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Another time was when she was correcting a young Prince George for acting up at Pippa Middleton’s wedding.

Well now a resurfaced video is showing Kate consoling Princess Charlotte at a public event after her little girl trips and the tears start to flow.

Princess Charlotte trips and stumbles while standing on the balcony

The video is from the Trooping of the Colour in 2018. It shows several members of the royal family assembled on the balcony as they are getting ready to watch a flypast.

In the clip, Princess Charlotte stands alongside her cousin and in front of her mother when she points at something and loses her balance. In an instant, Kate reached down to grab the then-3-year-old and avoid a disaster. While Charlotte didn’t appear hurt, she did seem a bit stunned and began to cry over what had just happened. Mama Kate tried to focus her daughter’s attention on something else before picking her up and consoling her.

The 40-second video has over 4.9 million views and more than 900 comments, with many praising Kate’s skills at being able to calm Charlotte down as she comforted her.

“There is no place more comforting than being in her mother’s arms!” one person wrote.

“Kate showed her quick, super mom reflexes there. Way to go!” another added.

A third chimed in: “She’s a princess but she’s also a normal baby like other baby girls. She was about to cry and Kate did a good job. She’s an amazing mom.”

“Love how everyone pause for second and Kate went into total mom mode, and love Peter Phillips’ daughter, comforting her Wales cousin,” another person said.

“It’s so nice to see that she dropped all formalities to check Charlotte was okay and then comfort her instead of keeping up royal etiquette,” a fifth posted.

And a sixth noticed King Charles’s reaction as well writing: “I could tell that His Majesty, Grandfather Charles had his heart drop immediately to his stomach when little Princess Charlotte lost her footing!!!! Thankfully Her Royal Highness, Princess Kate handled it quite quickly and quite well.”

Princess Charlotte’s brother almost fell off the balcony during Trooping the Colour

Two years before Charlotte’s almost took a big tumble while standing on the balcony, her brother, Prince George, almost fell off of it.

As the family got ready to watch the flyover during the 2016 ceremony, something below them caught George’s eye before he pointed and leaned over. Kate noticed him first and tried to grab the future king with one hand as she held Princess Charlotte in her other arm. Prince William then got hold of his son.

Then-Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth, and Camilla had been watching the whole thing with looks of horror on their faces. At one point, Camilla even put out her hand and reached for George before his father pulled him back to safety.

That moment clearly had everyone shaken up but luckily, a crisis was averted and little George was just fine.
