Expert says this couple is the most ‘authentic with their emotions’
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”
According to Stanton, Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, and husband, Mike Tindall, have just shown why they are the royal family’s “power couple.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Zara and Mike come across as the closest parallels to Kate and William in terms of confidence, capability, and natural ease during public engagements. They project the presence of a true power couple — comfortable in their roles and entirely at home in the spotlight.
“Analyzing an interview with the pair this week, what stands out most is the authenticity of their emotions. Their reactions are unguarded and genuine, creating the impression that they truly want to be there rather than simply fulfilling an obligation. Their smiles engage the whole face, not just the mouth, which is a key indicator of real enjoyment. No matter how well trained someone is, a forced smile is almost always detectable — and this is clearly not the case here.”
Stanton also pointed out how Mike and Zara’s mirrored movements showcase their effortless rapport and highlight the strength of their bond, noting, “Mike, mainly in profile during the interview, provides a particularly clear example of this authenticity. The visible crow’s feet and deepening laugh lines that stretch across his face as he smiles signal genuine positive emotion. These involuntary muscle movements are difficult to fake and strongly suggest real warmth.
