Selena Gomez brought extra shimmer to the 2026 Emmy Awards. The pop star turned heads on the red carpet in a shimmering gold gown. While fans praised her glamorous look, her appearance also reignited online speculation about Ozempic.

The 34-year-old arrived at the award ceremony in a strapless gold mirrorball gown. The floor-length ensemble featured a structured waist and a mermaid-style skirt that accentuated her silhouette. Its mermaid-style skirt completed the look.

Gomez continued her Louis Vuitton run at the Emmys after wearing a red gown from the fashion house last year. She accessorized the look with Tiffany & Co. statement earrings, a chunky bracelet, and rings. The Wizards of Waverly Place star left her neck bare but filled her fingers with dazzling rings. 

She kept her look simple and let the dress shine with peachy makeup and an extra layer of blush. The singer also left her brunette locks, styled in soft waves, down.

The Only Murders in the Building star drew plenty of attention, with fans calling her ‘MOTHER.’ An Instagram user reacted to her look, writing, “The queen is glowing.” Another fan penned, “I swear she gets prettier and prettier every day.” “Selena is the most beautiful woman in the world. Inside and out. She is just stunning tonight,” a third fan noted. Many others also labeled her “Golden goddess,” praising her look for the award ceremony. 

Gomez attended the awards after being nominated alongside her Only Murders in the Building cast for Outstanding Comedy Series. She was accompanied by the show’s leads Martin Short and Steve Martin. However, Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay bagged the award.

Meanwhile, Gomez once again faced Ozempic claims following her 2026 Emmys appearance. The actress was often accused of using the infamous Hollywood weight-loss injections previously when fans noticed a massive change in her physique. 

According to the Daily Mail, several Hollywood celebrities have admitted to taking the medication to lose several pounds. The news outlet claims that many who do not admit to taking such help are obsessed with it. One among these celebrities, they claim, is Gomez. 

The outlet recalled Gomez’s 2023 Emmy Awards look to her latest one. They suggested that she curbed her appetite with Ozempic for a rather dramatic transformation in her physical appearance. 

A reader commented, “How very sad and vacuous these people are.” Another claimed, “They look so much older now.” Several others scrutinized Hollywood’s beauty standards that force many women to change their appearance. 

This is no news to Gomez, who has previously detailed the reason behind her drastic weight changes. According to Us Weekly, the Emilia Pérez star revealed that her lupus medication causes weight fluctuations in a TikTok live. Gomez spoke about the hurtful comments about her weight gain, noting that the men in the industry do not face such issues. 

She further shared, “When I’m taking it, I tend to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally. When I’m off of it, I tend to kind of lose weight.” Gomez clarified that achieving a certain physique is never her goal. Instead, she said, “I’d rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they’re what helps me.”
