Nathan Griffith’s Criminal Cases: How Many Times Has He Been Accused of Strangulation?
Nathan Griffith’s most recent relationship, with a woman almost two decades his junior, ended in dramatic fashion. In April, after just five months of dating, Griffith’s ex-girlfriend, Anastasia Biddle, 21, called police when the former Teen Mom 2 star strangled her after he had become intoxicated. Charged with domestic battery by strangulation, Griffith could face five years behind bars. It’s not the first time he’s been accused of choking a woman, though. Police have arrested Nathan Griffith four times in three different states for similar incidents.
Nathan Griffith has been arrested in three states for strangulation
Former reality TV star Nathan Griffith’s most recent arrest might be his most highly publicized, but it’s not the first time he has seen the inside of a jail cell due to his temper. The former Teen Mom 2 star has been charged multiple times for domestic violence. He has even been locked up in three different states for strangling women.
His first arrest that involved strangulation or choking came in 2016. According to police records, Griffith’s ex-girlfriend, Jessica Henry, reported that Griffith had entered a room she was sleeping in and began choking her. Several years later, in February 2023, he was arrested for strangling an unnamed romantic partner. While Teen Mom fans initially assumed the altercation involved Griffith’s wife, May Oyola, she has revealed she was not the victim. The state dropped the case when the victim did not cooperate. The incident occurred in Florida.
After the Florida incident, Nathan made his way to Las Vegas, where his sister was living. He was visiting with his sister in July 2023 when he became enraged and attacked her, choking her. She called the police. Las Vegas Police charged Griffith with domestic battery by strangulation. He was placed on probation following the incident. A specialized court for veterans handled his case.
The most recent arrest also occurred in Las Vegas. Griffith was still on probation at the time of the incident involving Biddle. The terms of his probation required him to adhere to several rules to remain free. Griffith appears to have broken several of those rules and will likely face a probation violation in addition to the domestic battery by strangulation charge.
Where is he right now?
Nathan Griffith’s very lengthy and very violent criminal history hasn’t led to a substantial prison term yet, but his most recent arrest very well could. Griffith won’t learn his fate for some time. As it stands, the veteran is currently locked up awaiting his next hearing.

Griffith is still being held at the Clark County Detention Center. He has been at the detention center, which houses around 1,000 inmates at any given time, since his arrest on April 23. According to court records, he is expected back in court on May 13 to deal with his most recent arrest. He will also see a judge on May 22 about his probation violation.
