Don’t mess with Taylor Swift‘s fiancé, or the Swifties will come for you.

Los Angeles Chargers player Treair Tart learned that after he slapped Travis Kelce‘s helmet so hard his head snapped back during a blocking sequence in a game in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 5.

While some objective viewers thought Tart should have been ejected for his actions, Swifties were seeing red. Tart has since responded to the backlash, and Swift’s fans aren’t happy at all with what he posted.

Swift’s fans will not stand for her Romeo being attacked

The nose tackle picked the wrong player to mess with when he went after the tight end because as everyone on the planet now knows, the “Karma” singer and NFL star announced their engagement on Aug. 26. The pair posted several photos of Kelce’s proposal to his lady with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Given how closely the pop star’s loyal fanbase has been watching their love story unfold and are over the moon that Swift found her Romeo, they weren’t happy at all when Tart smacked Kelce.

And so, the Swifties attacked. They found Tart’s Instagram and let out their anger with a barrage of comments on several of his posts.

Tart responds to hate from Swifties

Tart saw what was written and formulated his own response for the ticked-off fans, which irked them even more.

In reaction to the backlash from Swifties, Tart posted a new carousel of photos from the game, including a clip from the movie How High showing one character getting slapped in the face. The defensive tackle then captioned it: “I’m too swift with it even from Brazil.”

That clearly did go over well with Swifties either.

One commenter responded: “Involving his fiancée in this while your lady isn’t mention by Trav or others is really awful. She has nothing to do with it; she isn’t a player. She just watches her fiancée play like all the other ladies do. You always have to involve her in your ship; she has done nothing to you. All this is really awful.”

Another fan seething over the caption wrote: “Taylor Swift has more Super Bowls than your team btw,” while a third taunted, “Next time do it with your Super Bowl rings on your hand … oh wait.”

A fourth said: “This man will never get more attention than he is right now off the backs of 2 far more successful individuals but I’m assuming he knew that considering his comments after. Fade back into your mediocre abyss please.”

And a fifth sounded off: “Dirty player. That slap was uncalled for. You’re jealous of him.”

Swift’s fans are hoping they have put other players on notice when they lineup against Kelce in the coming weeks. We’ll just have to wait and see. As for the Chiefs and Chargers, the division rivals meet again on Dec. 14, a game Swifties will be watching closely.
