In one interview following the release of Being Charlie, Reiner recalled destroying the guest house he cycled in and out of at his parents’ property. He recalled punching holes in walls and trashing the living accommodations in drug-fueled rages. He recalled the incident with a nonchalance that feels eerie now. Neighbors in the family’s upscale Brentwood neighborhood recalled multiple disturbances over the years that involved the couple’s troubled son. Those close to the situation suggest Rob and Michele were at the end of their rope with their middle child. Nick Reiner had been in dozens of rehabs since his teen years. They were concerned both for their child and their family, claimed insiders. Nick Reiner is believed to have been living with his parents at the time of the murders.
Nick Reiner was apprehended on suspicion of murder in downtown Los Angeles hours after the gruesome discovery of his parents’ bodies. The couple’s youngest child, Romy Reiner, reportedly found her slain parents and called for help. Multiple sources claim the youngest Reiner told police her older brother was likely responsible, calling him dangerous. Nick Reiner is being held without bail.
