Nicki Minaj said she’s a ‘Billionaire Barbie’ amid album announcement

To the delight of her fans, Minaj announced that she is planning to release a new album on March 27, 2026. She also hinted that she could release another album that year.

“I could put out an album tomorrow and still revolutionize the industry yet again on 3.27.26,” she wrote. “And then turn around and still release another blockbuster 4th quarter of 26.”

She said she wanted to reward her dedicated fans with another album.

“The truth is (lol, I know…not another ‘the truth is’ tweet) lol ok last one b4 spaces,” she wrote. “The truth is: I’m releasing NM6 on 3.27.26 b/c of the people who were in attendance at #GagCity I saw you. I want you to know that. I saw you. I heard you. I felt you. I love you.”

Per Complex, Minaj also said that she is working on three documentaries and three audiobooks. She wrote that 2026 will launch her into a new stratosphere of wealth.

“Hi, I’m Billionaire Barbie,” she wrote.

Is Nicki Minaj a billionaire?

Minaj appears to be hopeful that her slew of new projects could bring in more wealth. Is she close to being a billionaire, though?

According to CEO Today, Minaj is worth an estimated $190.5 million. This makes her the wealthiest female rapper. Her net worth is bolstered by a string of hit songs, work on series like American Idol, and brand partnerships. While Minaj is extremely successful, she has a ways to go before she can call herself a billionaire.

Minaj also is poised to lose a portion of her net worth. A judge awarded Thomas Weidenmuller a judgment of $503,000 against Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Perry, in early 2024. Per Us Weekly, Weidenmuller filed court documents against Minaj and Perry over an alleged assault. As he has not yet received the money from him, he asked the court to sell Minaj’s $20 million home so he could use the proceeds to pay off the debt she owes him.

She previously threatened to cancel her album

Minaj’s fans have celebrated her recent posts on social media, as they worried she wouldn’t release her album. She threatened to cancel her album and tour in early October.

“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ,” she wrote. “I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinooooooooooooooooooo. @sc.”
