Nicki Minaj Dragged Jay-Z Into Her Vicious Feud With Cardi B: Why Does She Hate Him?
Amid a series of charged posts about Cardi B’s children, boyfriend, and career, Nicki Minaj turned her focus to Jay-Z. The explosive feud began when Minaj joked about Cardi’s new album, Am I the Drama?. The two rappers fired off blistering posts about one another, but Minaj eventually targeted Jay-Z. Why does she hate the rapper and music mogul?
Nicki Minaj mentioned Jay-Z in her feud with Cardi B
After firing off a series of posts about Cardi on X (formerly Twitter), Minaj turned her attention to Jay-Z. In one post, she referenced Rymir Satterthwaite, who claims to be Jay-Z’s son. She also claimed that Jay-Z is jealous of Nas and alleged that he didn’t like that she collaborated with The Weeknd on her album Queen.
“Jay z got mad that I wouldn’t give him a beat that I had already began legal paperwork for,” she wrote. “The song I did with the WEEKND ON QUEEN. He said it’s Beyoncé beat & HOEBERSON just laid down & let them take it & then sue me for remaking a similar beat.”
She also posted multiple edited photos of Jay-Z.
What is Nicki Minaj’s problem with Jay-Z?
Minaj’s dislike of Jay-Z appears to stem from her claims that he did not pay her for her stake in his streaming service, Tidal. She, along with a number of other artists, was a brand partner. She said he owes her between $100 and $200 million.
“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far,” she wrote on X (via XXL). “JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it n****. And anyone still calling him Hov will answer to God for the blasphemy.”
In 2021, Jay-Z sold his 80% stake in Tidal for $297 million. Minaj said she was offered a $1 million payout.
This isn’t the first time she’s put him on blast in recent years
Jay-Z has been a frequent target of Minaj’s ire. In 2024, she slammed him after Kendrick Lamar was announced as the Super Bowl halftime show act. Minaj wanted Lil Wayne to take the stage and seemingly blamed Jay-Z. His company, Roc Nation, produces the show.

In the summer of 2025, she also made unfounded claims that Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez was abusing her daughter. She also posted about Satterthwaite’s paternity claims.
