Nicki Minaj Flew Into a Rage After Birthday Messages From Stars Like Justin Bieber, Said Ruby Rose
In a series of posts, actor Ruby Rose opened up about her time working with Nicki Minaj — and the way birthday posts from celebrities like Justin Bieber. Rose said she once toured with Minaj and claimed the rapper had a large ego. She said that birthday messages sent Minaj into a firing spree because her celebrity friends revealed her real age.
Ruby Rose said birthday messages from Justin Bieber and others infuriated Nicki Minaj
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Minaj made homophobic remarks about Don Lemon. Rose responded to a post criticizing Minaj with her personal experience.
“I toured with Nicki Minaj. Her ego is so outsized she HAD to fire someone after every show,” she wrote on Threads. “Publicly, because she is 3 ft maga. On night one she fired the security for not seamlessly carrying her from the stage – because she went to jump off several bars early.”
Rose said Minaj wanted to fire everyone on her birthday. Multiple celebrities sent her birthday messages, which allegedly caused her “real” age to leak.
“The 3rd night was best,” Rose wrote. “We were all going to get fired. Because it was her birthday, and well … Someone on her team had organized a bunch of her friends and celebrities to do a happy birthday montage video. So kind! Only problem was – Of the dozen or so video messages that came in, not one had her age ‘right’. And now her real age had been leaked.”
Rose claimed someone edited the videos to hide Minaj’s age.
“The video played btw — but I was told someone had to go in and edit the ages out and that was why it looked off in parts,” she wrote. “‘Hey Nicki, it’s Justin Bieber here wishing you a happy *cut* irthday.”
The actor shared why she has opened up about her experiences with the rapper
In the comments on the post, one person asked why Rose waited to share her experiences with Minaj. They compared it to people waiting years to come forward about Sean “Diddy” Combs. Rose explained that she hadn’t seen it as her business until Minaj became more politically active.
“In the case of Diddy, people didn’t want to be murdered,” she wrote. “In this case, because it’s no one’s business. Certainly not mine. Pop stars will be pop stars. I put my head down and work. Now she’s in politics — it’s fair game.”
Rose noted that she doesn’t like to speak negatively about others. As a result, she added that she had positive experiences working with people, including Samuel L. Jackson, Andy Serkis, Toni Collette, and Bad Bunny.
Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber worked together on ‘Beauty and the Beat’
In 2012, Minaj and Bieber worked together on the song “Beauty and the Beat.” Bieber said he felt she was the perfect fit for the track.
“I wanted a female rapper and I think that she is the best choice,” he told Rap-Up. “I felt she just fit on the song perfectly.”
Both artists appeared in the music video together.
