Nicki Minaj Had a ‘Strong Premonition’ She Was Destined for Her Political Commentary
Recently, Nicki Minaj has focused more on political commentary than her music career. She has thrown her full support behind Donald Trump and has appeared at a number of conservative events. Minaj said that she has felt for much of her life that she has been destined for something outside of her music career. She believes that her interest in politics is that thing.
Nicki Minaj said she felt destined for something like a political career
Minaj spoke at a United Nations event about claims that Nigerian Christians are being persecuted. After this, she started involving herself in politics. This is a bit of a career pivot for her. Minaj said she has always felt like this was her destiny, though.
“I think that people’s steps are aligned,” she told Katie Miller. “I used to always tell people this when I was growing up, I had this strong premonition my whole life that I had a second job to do. And this was, by the way, before I even made it in rap. Something inside of me just told me I would have another thing to do. The first time I said it out loud or texted it was during the last campaign, the presidential campaign, this last one.”
She added that she got into politics during Trump’s campaign for president.
“I saw something…and I also said, this, all of this is making me want to get into politics,” she said. “So the last thing that really did it was…the presidential campaign, and knowing that I could help because the things that I was saying, it was happening.”
She also said she felt that Trump was facing unfair “bullying,” which made her empathize with him.
