Nike and Gatorade Have Collaborated with Netflix to Celebrate the Final Season of ‘Stranger Things’
Late last month, Netflix dropped the first four episodes of Stranger Things’ final season. Fans are absolutely clamoring for more, but they’ll have to wait until December 25 for the next installment of episodes. While the wait might feel like it’s not ideal, there is plenty to enjoy about the series in the meantime. Both Nike and Gatorade are celebrating the line with some pretty cool-looking Stranger Things collaborations.
Nike is, once again, dropping a ‘Stranger Things’ collaboration
Stranger Things is coming to an end, but Nike isn’t going to let it go out without a bang. The famed sneaker purveyor has collaborated with Netflix on special releases in the past, and the final season is no different. On November 6, ahead of the release of the first four episodes of season 5, Nike dropped a pair of Nike Dunk Lows that pay homage to the famed series. The shoes, known as the “Phantoms,” feature cracked-leather uppers, faux-aged stitching and midsoles, and inverted (upside-down) Nike branding. The blue soles and red branding keep the ’80s look alive throughout the shoe. The sneakers sold out in minutes, which is common for a Nike X Stranger Things collaboration.
Fans who missed out on the sneaker drop will have the chance to grab some apparel come December 4, though. At 10 am Eastern, Nike will release a line of clothing that honors the show. Hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatpants will be included in the drop, according to the official Nike website.
Gatorade is getting in on the fun, too
Nike isn’t the only company getting in on the collaboration fun. Gatoade will also be dropping a special line celebrating the final season of the Netflix superhit. Just like Nike, Gatorade is traveling back to the 1980s for inspiration. The thirst-quenching company will be releasing its classic sports drink in an old-school glass bottle as part of the drop.
Along with the glass bottle drinks, fans of Stenger Things will also have the chance to purchase t-shirts and towels that celebrate the show’s final season. All items will be released on the Gatorade website on December 4. Purchases will come complete with that vintage feel and packaging that pays homage to the series and the era in which it is set.
The first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 were released on November 26. Four more episodes will drop on December 25, and the finale will be released on December 31. All releases occur at 8 pm Eastern Time.
