Adam Sandler Calls His Marriage to Jackie Sandler ‘Destiny’
Adam Sandler has done something difficult for many other Hollywood heavy hitters: he has found a single person he wants to spend his life with. Sandler has been married for years, and while he mostly keeps his private life quiet, he does occasionally sing his wife, Jackie Sandler, praises. In a recent interview, Sandler theorized that he and Jackie would have ended up together no matter what, even if they hadn’t both been actors. He called the union “destiny” and insists they would have found each other regardless.
Adam Sandler thinks he and Jackie Sandler would have found each other regardless
Who would have thought that funnyman, Adam Sandler, is a hopeless romantic? While Sandler has talked openly about his love and marriage over the years, he was feeling especially sweet while being honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. During an acceptance speech, Sandler mused about what his life would have looked like had he pursued a different career. He was, however, insistent that his life would have included his wife, Jackie Sandler, regardless.
According to People, Sandler told his peers that no matter what career he chose, he would still have married Jackie Sandler. The outlet reports that he said, “First off, I’m thinking I’d probably still be married to my wife, Jackie. That’s destiny. Nothing stops that.” He went on to joke that their house would include far fewer bathrooms and statues of himself, though. The sweet statement has fans swooning.
The actors’ careers, however, did play a role in their romance
While Adam Sandler is confident that his soul would have sought out Jackie Sandler regardless of his career path, it was Hollywood that brought them together. The duo met at a party thrown by Rob Schneider. Jackie Sandler knew Schneider as she had worked with him on Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. From there, she landed a role in Big Daddy, and the rest was pretty much history. They began dating after growing close on the set of Big Daddy in 1999.
The Sandlers announced their engagement in 2002, after about 3 years of dating. They wed in a star-studded ceremony in Malibu in June 2003. Since then, they’ve settled into life together. They welcomed two children, daughters Sadie and Sunny, born in 2006 and 2008, respectively. They’ve worked together on countless projects, too, and that doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
