Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were once the entertainment industry’s “It” couple. While their marriage seemed to be perfect at first, it had its own flaws. From the rapper’s bipolar disorder to him taking over her makeover duties, she spilled a lot of beans in her new biography. The beauty mogul shares some of the biggest revelations of her life that she hadn’t discussed before.

The new authorized biography, Citizen Kim, by Jonathan Van Meter, is out. The book details many events from Kardashian’s life she has never talked about. According to Us Weekly, Kardashian opened up about all kinds of struggles she went through during her marriage with West. She appeared to open up to readers when she discussed her ex-husband’s mental health condition and how it affected their relationship.

In one chapter, she gave readers a sneak peek into her life as a married woman. She tied the knot with West in 2014 and remained married for years before filing for divorce in 2021. The reality TV star revealed that her ex-husband was initially diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, and the journey from then on was not easy for them.

Kardashian shared, “In big traumatic experiences, I feel like what I learned to do over and over was deal with it and move on, deal with it and move on.” She corrected herself, saying that “dealing” may not be the right word. She insisted that she had rather kept sweeping it under the carpet.

However, it did not improve the situation, and she was left feeling guilty. The SKIMS founder further emphasized how embarrassed she was with Ye and what he said during his “psychotic breaks.” “Because certain things would happen, and I just wanted to protect him. I don’t want anyone to know about this,” the mother of four argued.

She noted that after a while, she eventually had to choose herself. When she asked who she wanted to save in the relationship, she chose herself.

Sharing another instance, Kardashian noted how his marriage with West changed her outlook. The beauty mogul recalled that she was fairly new into the relationship when Ye offered her a “fashion makeover.” She revealed she didn’t think it through and jumped to conclusions, letting him bring in his stylists.

“A team of stylists came in. I was in my first house on Abington, and I thought I had the best shoes — I thought I had it all,” Kardashian recalled. The stylists then brought together an outfit for her to go to the Lakers game. However, when she returned, they had thrown away most of her shoes and collected material for her to study fashion. While West completely changed her fashion game, she praised him, saying he helped her gain “so much confidence.”

Following their divorce, Kardashian went through a lot of public turmoil due to Ye’s public outbursts. However, she noted that she swept it all under the carpet to ensure her children have a good bond with their father. This also includes her lying to her children at times about their father’s schedule.

She revealed that she often invites her ex-husband to spend time with the kids. Last year, she had Ye over for Christmas. “I worry about [Kanye] all day,” Kardashian revealed. Despite their differences, she said that co-parenting has not been a big challenge.
