Christina Applegate made a pretty shocking admission recently. The actor and advocate opened up about her early romantic life in her book, You With the Sad Eyes. Absolutely nothing was off limits. Christina Applegate even admitted to ditching Brad Pitt at an awards show to head out with Sebastian Bach. Apparently, the night he stole a girl from Brad Pitt remains a source of pride for the Skid Row frontman-turned-actor.

Applegate has spent decades in the industry, starting when she was just a teen. Because of it, she’s navigated both her personal and professional life in front of the entire world. In the memoir, Applegate admits that, once upon a time, she ditched Brad Pitt to leave the Video Music Awards with Sebastian Bach. The year was 1989, and a then-17-year-old Applegate invited Brad Pitt, in his mid-20s, as her date to the VMAs. She was an established star. He was trying to break into the industry, and they had the same friend group. Things seemed to be turning towards the romantic when Applegate spotted Sebastian Bach. 21 and dangerously handsome, Bach won over Applegate, who left the awards with him. Brad Pitt was left to drive Applegate’s mom home. The romance between Applegate and Pitt, obviously, never took off.

Sebastian Bach has been bragging about the situation for years

Christina Applegate sharing her decision to drop Brad Pitt for Sebastian Bach isn’t actually the first time we have heard of the story. Sebastian Bach has used the tale as a bragging point for years. He’s talked about it in several interviews and reveled in being hotter than Brad Pitt for a brief moment in the late 1980s. Bach discussed his “fling” with Applegate in his own book, 18 and Life on Skid Row.

The rocker was more than happy to discuss Applegate, their brief romance, and his decision to include the anecdote in his book during a radio show appearance. At the time, Bach claimed that there was no world in which he wouldn’t have been telling that story to people. To be fair, Bach, at the time, was more famous than Pitt and certainly just as good-looking, though in a different way. He was also closer in age to Applegate than Pitt was, but it still wasn’t meant to last.

Apparently, Sebastian Bach and Christina Applegate aren’t the only two telling the story. Applegate also revealed that while Pitt stopped talking to her, he had no problem telling other people she ditched him at an awards show for another man, leaving him with drop-off duty for her mother and friend. Applegate claims two separate exes of Pitt’s have approached her about the incident, though she never named who. Brad Pitt has not commented.
