Alanna Harris is the proud girlfriend of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jaylin Williams. The two have been dating for a while and Harris often posts TikTok videos sharing glimpses into their lives for her more than 73,000 followers.

One video Harris posted that went viral didn’t feature her or the NBA player though. Instead, it was all about Harris’ grandmother and Williams’ reaction to seeing her support him.

Williams has made it known in the past just how supportive Harris is of him. Like when he hosted a youth football camp in his hometown of Fort Smith, Arkansas, he made it a point to thank her for helping make it possible, telling Hogs Sports: “My girlfriend, Alanna Harris, has been helpful throughout the whole thing. She’s probably been the most stressed through it all.” 

So when Williams found out how much Harris’ grandmother has been supporting his career too, he was overjoyed. Here’s more on the heartwarming video people can’t get enough of.

Harris says her grandmom wasn’t always into basketball

Harris posted the video to TikTok on March 9, 2025, and so far it’s racked up more than 5.9 million views with over 979,000 likes and counting. She captioned it: “When your grandma has never cared about sports or watched them, but loves your boyfriend so much that now she watches every game and has a handwritten schedule of his games on her fridge.”

Williams can be heard in the background sweetly reacting to the photos and Harris’ grandma using a magnifying glass to watch his games on her cell phone.

Harris spoke to Newsweek about how much of a fan her grandmother is of her partner these days.

“My grandma actually has so many grandkids–so she’s always, in a way, been around different sports; mostly just to be present for her grandkids,” Harris said. “I don’t think she’s ever really understood them to the full extent. Within the last probably year or two, she’s really taken a special liking to watching Jaylin play. She learned it all so fast. She knows all of Jaylin’s teammates’ names and little facts about them. It’s actually so cute.”

Harris added, “He will always send me screenshots of what she sends him before and after games. Sometimes she will call me during the game and ask if I can tell Jaylin he needs to shoot more when I text him at halftime. I’m like, ‘Grandma, the coaches know what they’re doing.'”

Harris also shared what her beau does to make sure grandma doesn’t have too much trouble spotting him on the court, explaining: “Sometimes it’s hard for her to tell the players apart when she’s watching on her phone because it’s so tiny, so she will ask Jaylin to wear bright shoes so it’s easier for her to find him. He always does.”

Harris’ grandma even joined fan groups but doesn’t like seeing any Williams slander

Harris’ grandmother’s passion runs deep, and she even joined several Thunder Facebook fan groups to gush about the athlete. However, she isn’t too happy when she sees people on there talking trash after a bad game or two.

“She has also probably joined close to 20 Oklahoma City Thunder fan groups on Facebook–she is very active on them,” Harris revealed. “She will go to war over Jaylin in the comments sometimes and I have to call her and remind her it’s okay for people to have a personal opinion that doesn’t align with hers … She will always say, ‘Okay. Do I need to delete my comments?’ She never does.”
