Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson‘s involvement with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein over the years has cost them just about everything. The two lost their royal titles, have been banned from all public events with the family and must vacate their 30-room, 99-acre Royal Lodge estate in Windsor Park.

In October 2025, Andrew relinquished his Duke of York title, claiming that he came to the decision to do so after a “discussion” with his elder brother, King Charles III, as well as his “immediate and wider family.”

Less than two weeks later, King Charles stripped Andrew of his prince title. The monarch also made a decision on his sibling’s residence, where Andrew had a 75-year lease.

The statement regarding the Royal Lodge home read: “[Andrew’s] lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

With their royal perks gone, there are reports that Andrew and Sarah are now resorting to selling valuable items linked to Queen Elizabeth II to the highest bidder. It’s believed that the two could be looking to auction off private letters and jewelry currently in their possession.

One source told Radar Online, “The appearance of even a single item would trigger immediate and widespread fallout. But Andrew and Sarah seem intent on turning the Lodge into some sort of pawn shop source by collecting together goods they think they can auction off …. If they go ahead with this, their departure from royal life may end in the most volatile way yet.”

Another source added it would be a “worst-case scenario” if private letters, recordings, and jewels are sold publicly, explaining, “Senior royals always expected the break with Andrew to be difficult, but not on this scale. The prospect of private letters, recordings, and jewels becoming public is viewed as a worst-case scenario.”

There have also been many questions surrounding their move out of Royal Lodge and what’s been taking so long.

An insider who spoke to the Daily Mail shared: “A lorry has been and gone under the cover of darkness. Andrew is going to a shoebox-sized house, compared to Royal Lodge, so a lot of the things that were taken are going into a storage unit.

“The clutter at Royal Lodge is turning what should be a straightforward move into a months-long, room-by-room excavation. It’s all going to be painfully slow, especially with refurbishment work to complete at the other end. These aren’t the kind of belongings you can sweep into a skip. Even if Andrew wanted to move tomorrow, he couldn’t.”

Andrew will reportedly move to Marsh Farm located seven miles away from the king’s Sandringham House in Norfolk. It’s unclear if Sarah will be moving there with him.
