Pamela Anderson Finally Responds to Reports Her Relationship With Liam Neeson Was a Fake PR Stunt
For much of the summer, Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson kept fans guessing about whether the chemistry between them was genuine or made up to generate buzz and get people into theaters to watch The Naked Gun film.
As more time passed, people began to really buy into their romance after the sister of Neeson’s late wife, Natasha Richardson, gave her stamp of approval. Joely Richardson also expressed admiration for Anderson as an actor, stating, “I think she’s a magnificent artist.”
Moreover, Neeson and Richardson’s son, Micheál, was also on board with his dad and Anderson’s relationship. So it had to be real, right?
Well, a couple of weeks ago, a report citing anonymous sources claimed that Neeson and Anderson played up their romance for their press tour, as they are not and never were a couple. Apparently, Anderson didn’t get that memo and decided to set everyone straight.
Report calls Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s relationship a ‘fauxmance’
According to a TMZ report, the actors were pulling everyone’s leg regarding a true romance. Instead, it was a “fauxmance” just to promote their movie.
Sources told the outlet that the PDA tour was all for PR, put together by their teams and Paramount.
Those sources even claimed that after the filming wrapped in June 2024, Anderson and Neeson didn’t see each other again until they began their press tour a year later.
The insiders stressed that, contrary to what the actors shared in interviews, they weren’t as close as they wanted everyone to think, saying, “They never had one-on-one dinners. Whenever they did break bread, assistants were at the table … strictly biz, zero romance.”
Anderson hits back after reports alleged that the relationship wasn’t real
Despite what the reports and sources have claimed, Anderson clapped back in a recent speech, confirming that her relationship with the Taken star is not fake.
Speaking at the Deauville American Film Festival, the Baywatch alum told the audience: “I do not and will never feed into PR stunts,” she said during the speech. “That would be a death sentence. I’m authentically driven. I’m superstitious when it comes to love. And I’m not comfortable sharing any shred of my romantic life … Love in whatever shape it takes or however long it lasts is innocent. It takes time, and love belongs to lovers.”
She added, “I know I will fall in love again and again on screen. That is my job. If we do it well, you will feel it, a kind of projection. It is the greatest compliment. So please think positive. And I appreciate your good wishes. There are no silly games being played. I am sincere.
“Do not mistake my kindness for weakness or my boldness for bitterness. I am here on this journey not for money or for fame but to see what I’m made of in truth, hard work, and to leave behind an honest legacy my family can be proud of.”
