Kim Cattrall, best known for her work on Sex and the City, is nothing like her famed character. While Samantha Jones repelled at the idea of marriage, Kim Cattrall has embraced it. She’s embracing it once again, marrying her longtime love, Russell Thomas, in an intimate ceremony in London.
Kim Cattrall and Russell Thomas tie the knot
Kim Cattrall and Russell Thomas are husband and wife. People was the first to report the nuptials. According to the outlet, the duo tied the knot on December 4 at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London. The wedding was small, with only 12 guests, but Cattrall certainly dressed for the occasion. She wore a Dior suit and a stunning hat to say “I Do” to her partner. Patricia Field, the stylist known for her work on Sex and the City, styled the look. The mastermind behind the styling is obvious when you consider Cattrall married Thomas in a look reminiscent of the one Carrie Bradshaw ultimately married Mr. Big in during Sex and the City: The Movie.
Cattrall, 69, and Thomas, 55, met in 2016 at The BBC. Cattrall previously shared how they first became a couple, calling it all very “modern.” She revealed Thomas slid into her DMs on X (formerly Twitter) and they began dating from there. Thomas is an audio engineer, while Cattrall continues to act.
Kim Cattrall has been married before
While Cattrall and her new husband have been together for nearly a decade, this is not her first walk down the aisle. Cattrall has been married three times before, with her third marriage ending more than 20 years ago.
The iconic actor was married to Larry Davis, a writer, from 1977 until 1979. She had the union annulled, though it’s unclear exactly why she sought an annulment instead of a more common divorce. In 2013, she told the Express that her first marriage ended because she was “far too young” to be married. She was 19 when they tied the knot.
In 1982, she gave marriage another chance when she met Andre J. Lyson, a German architect. Cattrall moved to Germany after they wed, but the marriage didn’t last long. They called it quits in 1989. For nine years, she was mostly focused on her acting career, but in 1998, she married musician Mark Levinson. The marriage ended in 2004. Cattrall later blamed Sex and the City for the end of the union. She told News.com.au that she and Levinson would have never divorced if she hadn’t been so commited to her work on the series.
