Pete Davidson Thinks Dating Apps Make It Harder for the Younger Generation to Find Love
Pete Davidson is only 31, but he is already looking back with nostalgia and wishing for simpler times. The comedian recently revealed that he believes social media and dating apps are making it harder for young adults to connect, not easier. In fact, he’s so sure that dating apps are making things worse that he thinks the younger generation might be doomed when it comes to finding love.
Pete Davidson doesn’t think dating apps are helping young adults find love
Finding love online has become more mainstream in recent years, but Pete Davidson doesn’t think it’s led to all that many connections. In fact, he recently revealed that he believes young people have “no shot” when it comes to dating thanks to the apps. During an interview with Variety, Davidson reflected on finding love in the digital age.
The comedian takes issue with how quickly you can write people off on dating apps. He lamented, “Dating apps are just so dismissive. It’s just like, ‘No. Yes. No.’ That’s so rude.” Davidson reflected on the past, noting that he only had a flip phone when he was a teen, which made things nicer. He believes young adults might have a better chance at finding love if they take a step back from technology.
Davidson, 31, was born in 1993. The first iPhone was released in 2007. While online dating existed before Tinder, the app released in 2012 is largely considered the biggest game changer in online dating yet.
Who is Pete Davidson dating right now?
Pete Davidson might have some concerns about how dating apps impact young adults’ ability to find romantic partners, but he’s certainly not having any trouble. Davidson has been in several high-profile relationships over the years, and his current love affair is making headlines, too. Davidson is currently dating Elsie Hewitt, a model and actor. Hewitt previously dated Benny Blanco.
Before Hewitt, Davidson dated Cazzie David, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Madelyn Cline, and several other well-known women. Davidson rose to fame during his relationship with Grande. The pair even got engaged before calling it quits after just five months. His relationship with David, which immediately preceded his high-profile romance with Grande, lasted two years.
Davidson’s relationship with Kim Kardashian, which lasted from November 2021 until August 2022, was heavily discussed on The Kardashians. Following his split from Kardashian, he had short-lived romances with Emily Ratajkowski and Chase Sui Wonders. He linked up with Cline in September 2023. They broke up in July 2024.
Davidson was first spotted with Hewitt in March, but they may have been dating quietly for months beforehand. They have been spotted together in several cities so far. Davidson’s somewhat chaotic dating life is hard to predict. Still, we think it’s safe to assume that if things don’t work out with Hewitt, he won’t be looking for love on Tinder.
