How President Donald Trump Feels About Upcoming Visit With Prince William’s Wife Kate
Preparations have been well underway for President Donald Trump‘s trip to the U.K., in which he and First Lady Melania Trump will meet with King Charles and other members of the royal family.
This marks the second visit during Trump’s presidency as he and his wife were received by Queen Elizabeth II in 2019. For that visit, Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) were seen at Buckingham Palace for a reception, but didn’t have much more involvement beyond that. For this visit though, things will be different.
There also seems to be more of a comfort level this time around with the Waleses after the president and Prince William were said to have gotten along very well when they sat down with each other several months back during the reopening ceremonies of the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral in France.
Now, insiders are sharing just how Donald Trump feels about having not only William, but also Kate taking a more active role in his visit.
How Donald Trump and Melania feel about Kate’s ‘prominent’ role during their stay
Donald and Melania Trump will arrive in England on Sept. 16. Once they touch down, the Prince and Princess of Wales will accompany them to Windsor, where they will attend an open-air greeting and a carriage procession.
On Sept. 18, the Trumps’ final day in the U.K., Melania will view Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle before meeting with Kate at Frogmore Gardens.
The two women will then attend an engagement together to meet Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program. Kate has been President of the Scout Association since 2020.
A source told the Daily Mail: “The president and first lady are thrilled that the Princess of Wales will play such a prominent role in their visit. The inclusion of Princess Kate in so many events during the state visit is an honor. The Trumps very much hoped she would be part of their visit, but nothing was confirmed until this week because of the princess’s health situation.”
Fence being built around Windsor Castle for the Trumps’ visit
Because of the magnitude of the visit and the fact that it will likely draw protests from the Stop Trump Coalition in and around Windsor, security remains a top priority and is being amped up.
Former royal family employee Paul Burrell shared that Donald and Melania Trump will be staying at Windsor instead of London because “Buckingham Palace is in a 10-year plan to be refurbished. It’s being rewired, re-plumbed, and refurbished … Work will continue to disrupt Palace life for the next three years … The Palace is a mess, and that’s why they’re using Windsor as a backup. Buckingham Palace will be ready again to receive a state visit in 2027.”
A 7-foot high fence was seen being erected all around Windsor Castle as officials are mindful that a would-be assassin tried to take Donald Trump’s life after firing off a shot at a rally in Pennsylvania in July 2024.
