Prince Andrew Is Being Sent to Live in a Haunted House
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s once-charmed life as Prince Andrew has devolved into a nightmare; now his house will match the rest of his vibe. Earlier this week, King Charles announced his brother would be stripped of his royal title. He also announced that Andrew will need to vacate Royal Lodge, where he has been living for two decades. He won’t be completely out in the cold, though; Andrew will be allowed to move into Sandringham Estate, a 19th-century estate far from London. Sandringham is a place Andrew knows a little too well; he once hosted Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell there. The country estate is also said to be haunted.
Andrew Montbatten Windsor is set to move to a haunted house
This week, King Charles III, in a stunning move, stripped Andrew of his royal titles and evicted him from his home at Royal Lodge. Buckingham Palace announced that the royal formerly known as Prince Andrew will leave his longtime residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor for a property on the Sandringham Estate. The estate in Norfolk is one of the family’s most out-of-the-way properties. The eviction is just the latest move by the Royal Family to distance themselves from Andrew. While his scandalous connection to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes has been well documented, new accusations just keep cropping up.
The world is watching, and most view the decision to evict the disgraced royal as a very necessary punishment for his alleged wrongdoing. Norfolk is more than 100 miles from the family’s home base in London. It effectively pushes Andrew further into hiding and ensures he won’t be a daily bother to the working royals. Experts suggest that King Charles hopes a three-hour trip from London will put some much-needed space between the Royal family and his disgraced younger brother. Andrew is opting not to speak out at all. That is probably his best move. Still, it seems unlikely that he’s happy about the move, especially since the estate is largely considered haunted.
The estate where Prince Andrew will now live is haunted
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will need to move from Royal Lodge to Sandringham Estate as soon as possible. The royal family has not announced which house on the estate the former Prince Andrew will call home. The sprawling property has multiple buildings, and several royals have lived (and died) there over the years. Regardless of where he sets down his suitcase on the estate, Andrew probably won’t be completely alone. Ghosts and spirits are said to inhabit the property. Over the years, a great deal of lore has surrounded the property used by the royals for their Christmas retreat, and most of it is quite spooky.
According to several sources, servants employed by the royal family have reported various incidents of noises and ghostly presences at Sandringham Estate. According to a historical society near the property, a footman once reported hearing a “wheezing” sound. They also reported the sounds of footsteps. Royals have experienced odd happenings, too. King Charles, then a prince, is said to have experienced paranormal activity at the home, according to Hello! Magazine. Visiting royals claim to have seen spirits in mirrors as well. Queen Elizabeth II and her mother were apparently so convinced of a haunting that they had rooms in the home blessed. For years, rumors have circulated that an exorcism was performed on the property at some point. That, however, might not be entirely true.
