Prince Andrew Dubbed a ‘Nightmare to Sit Next to’ at Dinner Parties for Inappropriate Behavior
After scandal after scandal, questionable choices, and very serious accusations, it was only a matter of time before someone wrote a book about Prince Andrew. The disgraced royal has garnered plenty of negative headlines over the past few years. And in case anyone forgot about those, a new book is bringing all of them back to the surface.
From his association with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to the sexual assault allegations to the disastrous BBC interview in which he tried to explain away and deny the claims.
In 2019, the duke was forced to step down from his royal duties. He has, for the most part, stayed out of the spotlight but the drama surrounding him has continued.
And now the book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the Yorks, is giving more insight into Andrew’s private life, and let’s just say the insiders who know the prince and spoke to the author did not paint him in a flattering light.
Why Prince Andrew was a ‘nightmare to sit next to’ at parties
Andrew Lownie has authored the biography about the Duke of York and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and some parts of the explosive book have been published in the Daily Mail ahead of its release.
Lownie said he spoke to several Palace sources who shared stories and information about the prince, including how he was the worst person to sit next to at dinner parties because of the way he acted.
Lownie wrote that Prince Andrew’s “favorite activities at parties were playing ‘choo-choo trains’, where everyone danced around the room in a conga shouting ‘choo-choo’, or games in which pieces of fruit were passed from under one person’s chin to the next.”
The source claimed: “He’s a nightmare to sit next to at dinner. He makes ghastly jokes about whether you’re wearing knickers. And you can’t tell him to sod off … his jokes were so ‘lavatorially disgusting everyone was aghast’.”
According to the book, Andrew sniffed the pâté served as his first course at one dinner party and allegedly said: “This pâté smells. What do you think?” When his female companion leaned forward to smell it herself, he pushed her face into the dish.
Andrew’s nephew, Prince Harry, threatens to sue author
There are also allegations in the book about Prince Andrew and his nephew, Prince Harry, getting into a physical fight in which Uncle Andy ended up with a bloody nose. It was also said that Andrew told Harry he didn’t trust Meghan and called her an “opportunist” and their marriage a “mistake.”
The Sussexes weren’t happy to hear about those claims, and Harry threatened legal action against the author.
When asked about that during an appearance on Good Morning Britain. Lownie welcomed a legal challenge from the Duke of Sussex, saying, “I can’t wait. Yes, well, recollections can vary as we know. I’m standing by my source and I can’t wait if he [Prince Harry] wants to pursue this as an action.”
