Prince Harry Blanks on Taylor Swift and Charli XCX Feud — Was He Trolling or Truly Clueless?
One day after Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, made headlines for getting booed at the Los Angeles Dodgers-Toronto Blue Jays baseball game, the Duke of Sussex made a surprise appearance on comedian Hasan Minhaj’s podcast.
While the prince may now know all about America’s favorite pastime, he’s not up to speed on all the pop culture involving America’s biggest star. Or is he?
How Prince Harry reacted when asked about the Taylor Swift-Charli XCX feud
When he was a guest on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know podcast, the host asked the former working royal something he doesn’t seem to know about.
“This one’s heavy, Harry. What do you think of this Taylor Swift, Charli xcx beef?” Minhaj asked.
“The what? Oh no,” the duke said, raising his eyebrows in confusion and looking very surprised.
Minhaq continued, “No, this is serious. Cause was Charli’s diss track even a diss track? I mean, to me, ‘Sympathy is a Knife’ was about something completely different, but then Taylor comes back, and I think escalates it, with the ‘Actually Romantic’ thing. And I’m kind of thinking to myself, ‘Is this fair? Or did Charli draw blood, and Taylor had to respond?”
Of course, it wouldn’t be smart for the prince to offer his opinion on an alleged celebrity feud, especially when it involves the biggest pop star in the world, who his wife personally wrote a letter to asking to meet (Swift declined). But judging by Harry’s reaction, he really appeared to have had no idea about any possible feud between the ladies.
Prince Harry also spoke about his work with The Parents’ Network
“Myself and my wife, we’ve talked about this quite a lot. You know, we’ve had our own, our fair share of beatings on social media. And I guess when we moved to the US, one of the things that we both agreed on was, yes, we could focus on the things that really, that are very clearly obviously aligned to our passions and causes,” Prince Harry recalled, noting that the tech industry was “not one of those things”. However, the Duke said what “we agreed and what we were in search of was what is the root cause of so much suffering and pain around the world and if we can identify that, how can we shine a light on that and support the people trying to change the industry? And then it was the tech industry and it was social media and we’re like ‘Well, that’s not very sexy.’ There’s no real- how do you tell this story? And then we saw the experts at Stanford and we realized there had been a growing group of experts and researchers who had been raising the alarm for so many years and weren’t being listened to.”With the fun, jokes, and awkwardness of Prince Harry likely not knowing anything about the pop stars’ feud aside, he was able to get down to business and talk about his work with The Parents’ Network.

Harry then explained that after he and Meghan “met these experts and researchers at Stanford, we were like: ‘This is something that we should put our weight behind.'”
