From the moment Prince Harry announced that he was making a solo trip to the U.K. for the WellChild Awards and other charity events, just about everyone wanted to know if he was going to see his father, King Charles. Well, on Sept. 10, the Duke of Sussex did just that when he had a meeting with the monarch at the king’s Clarence House residence in London.

According to Express, the prince was visiting Imperial College London’s Centre for Blast Injury Studies in White City prior to the meeting. As he was leaving, Harry shook hands with several fans and was heard telling them, “I have to go. I’m so late … I’ve got to go, I’ve got to go. Nice to meet you guys.”

He was then seen arriving at Clarence House at 5:20 p.m. local time. The meeting was brief, lasting about 54 minutes. In that span, the men were said to have had tea together.

This is the first time the two have seen each other since February 2024, when Prince Harry flew to London following the news of King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. That meeting also ended up being under an hour.

Some believed this latest meeting was bound to happen after the duke expressed a desire to see his dad in May during a bombshell interview after losing his security appeal with the Home Office.

“I would love a reconciliation with my family,” he said. “I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff … but it would be nice to reconcile.”

Whether or not this meeting means father and son have indeed reconciled is anyone’s guess and remains to be seen.
