Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Set for Huge Super Bowl Appearance
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been relatively quiet since the start of 2026, and aside from the duke’s court case in London, haven’t been seen in public much. Well, that’s about to change, according to an expert and also someone who knows Harry.
It’s believed that the duke and duchess will attend this year’s Super Bowl, which is being held in Meghan’s home state of California on Feb. 8. The pair know that being spotted on camera at such a high-profile event will put them right back in the limelight and get people talking about them again. Meghan and Harry have attended a few big sporting events in the past, most recently Game 4 of the Los Angeles Dodgers-Toronto Blue Jays World Series in October.
So will Meghan and Harry be in the house when the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots face off in Super LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California?
Expert explains why the Sussexes will want to be at the Super Bowl with cameras on them
Kayley Cornelius is a PR expert and celebrity commentator who has been featured in the Daily Mail, the BBC, the New York Post, and more.
Speaking on behalf of Action Network, Cornelius told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Harry and Meghan are very savvy when it comes to managing their public profile. Attending a high-profile event like the Super Bowl isn’t just about enjoying the game — it’s about visibility, relevance, and positioning themselves as a ‘royal celebrity’ brand in the United States.
“Being seen at events like this reinforces their status in pop culture, generates media coverage across multiple platforms, and keeps them at the forefront of public conversation. For non-working royals, appearances like this are key opportunities to maintain influence without the traditional royal obligations.”
The odds of the couple appearing at the NFL’s biggest game are -500 with an 84% probabilty that they’ll be there.
Ex-royal staffer believes Harry and Meghan will make attending the event a yearly thing
Harry attended his first Super Bowl (in Inglewood, California) with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, four years ago. Some thought we’d see the prince and his wife attend last year’s big game, but they did not as they were busy with the Invictus Games in Canada. Now, someone who used to work for Harry agrees that the Sussexes will attend Super Bowl LX and likely make it a yearly thing.
Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch Harrold’s duties included that of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He looked after Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate whenever they stayed at Highgrove House as well.
The former royal employee also spoke on behalf of Action Network and explained, “The Invictus Games are very close to Harry and Meghan’s hearts, so it made sense that they went to Canada over the Super Bowl last year. However, with no overlap this year, I think they’ll want to make an appearance at the Super Bowl and have it become a regular part of their calendar.
“From how it appears, if they start attending annually, I don’t see them stopping, so I can easily see it becoming one of those regular appearances. It’s similar to how the U.K. royals have their social calendar … While Harry and Meghan’s lifestyle in the United States is obviously different, there are certain occasions we’ve seen them at previously, and it feels like those could continue to become yearly staples.”
