Prince Harry has made his solo trip back to the U.K., and while everyone was waiting to find out if he would have a meeting with his father, the prince reportedly had other things on his mind.

The question before Harry even touched down in England was about whether or not he would have a meeting King Charles or his brother, Prince William. Most agreed that a reunion with the Prince of Wales was highly unlikely since the siblings aren’t believed to be on speaking terms at the moment. But a meeting with the monarch was always possible with Harry in England for a few days during which time the king was set to return from Balmoral in Scotland.

But a report that is getting a lot of attention now claims that Harry was more concerned with other things. Since it was his first time back in the U.K. in a while, he wanted to make sure he would still be receiving the royal treatment even though he’s no longer a working royal.

Here’s more on the duke’s “list of demands” for the Palace.

Harry’s ‘demands’ for himself and his family whenever they travel back to the U.K.

According to the report, Prince Harry’s list of demands included: full security for him and his family whenever he’s back in the U.K., press control that would be coordinated by Buckingham Palace, and Meghan treated as an HRH.

However, royal commentator and To Do For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield isn’t totally buying the story for one reason.

During an appearance on Sky News Australia, Scholfield said, “I’m not sure how much I trust this source. Harry does have protection as long as he works with RAVEC and gives them 28 days’ notice and gives them his itinerary; he is protected by the government when he arrives. He is on this [current] trip.”

The royal expert then touched on the “demands” that are more believable but likely won’t happen, opining: “This list is ridiculous; ‘Wants Meghan treated as an HRH.’ That’s the most realistic on the list where you can go, ‘I can see these two having the audacity to say that people need to bow and curtsy to Prince Harry’s wife.’

“And then wanting Buckingham Palace to help control the press narrative if he were to meet with King Charles. I don’t see that happening either because with this particular visit, [Harry] has hand-picked Sussex-friendly media that he will allow to have access to him.”

The royals can’t reconcile with Harry if they still don’t trust him

Someone who used to work for the royals and knows Harry very well was asked if the duke may be looking to patch up all the rifts with members of his family while he’s in the U.K., and if they’re willing to forgive him.

Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch Harrold’s duties included those of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He also looked after Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate whenever they stayed at Highgrove House.

So does Harrold believe the king and the Waleses can let bygones be bygones and forgive Harry for all that he’s done?

He told the New York Post, “There are trust issues there, but the king misses [Harry].”

The Prince and Princess of Wales will be harder sell though, as Harrold pointed out, “William is worried that with the stuff Harry has said, he could use it to his advantage again … like he’s already done. I think, sadly, they don’t trust him. It’s a shame, because Harry wants them to.”
