Prince Harry Confirms When He’ll Return to the U.K. After Losing Security Battle
A little more than a month after Prince Harry did an interview with the BBC following a court’s decision to dismiss his case about having his security reinstated, it’s been confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will return to the U.K. for a major event.
On May 2, 2025, when Harry’s court plea didn’t go his way, he thought it was a good idea to sit down with the media outlet and blame his father, King Charles, for not doing enough to help with his case.
The prince also said, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.”
But we know when Harry will be making a solo trip back to his homeland.
The duke will be back in the U.K. for the Invictus Games when they are hosted in Birmingham in July 2027.
When the city first won a bid to host the Games, no specific dates for the events had been released. On June 10, 2025, the official Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 social media account posted an update sharing dates: “SAVE THE DATES! The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 are coming: 10th–17th July. Opening Ceremony: 10th July. Closing Ceremony: 17th July.”
Prior to the decision in Harry’s court case, he told Town & Country magazine that he had planned to bring his children to Invictus one day: “Absolutely. I’d love for them to experience the Invictus spirit firsthand one day. Right now, they’re still young, but we already talk about the importance of resilience, community, and service—everything Invictus represents.”
Given that his security was not reinstated, it’s not likely that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will be with their dad when he returns to England.
