Prince Harry Sends Public Message to Prince William After Meeting With King Charles That May Destroy Any Chance of a Reconciliation
Days after many royal fans were hopeful that a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles was an indication that a reconciliation may be in the cards, the Duke of Sussex gave another explosive interview about his family. Yes, you read that correctly.
In a truly head-scratching moment, the former working royal talked about the past revelations and allegations he leveled against his family members and showed no remorse or regret over anything he said about them.
Here’s more on that, plus the “sibling” comment Harry made amid the rift with his brother, Prince William.
Harry makes ‘sibling’ comment in Ukraine before insisting his ‘conscience is clear’
After his London trip, Prince Harry flew to Poland and then traveled to Ukraine to visit wounded soldiers there. People reported that in his conversation with the soldiers, the duke urged them to “open up” about their sorrows and struggles with their loved ones.
“You will feel lost at times, like you lack purpose, but however dark those days are, there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said. “You just need to look for it, because there will always be someone — a mother, father, sibling, friend, or comrade–there to pick you up. Don’t stay silent. Silence will hold you in the dark. Open up to your friends and family, because in doing so, you give them permission to do the same.”
But Harry wasn’t done talking. He then decided to speak to The Guardian about his family. In that interview, the prince did not attempt to take any responsibility for anything he said about his royal relatives, acting like he had zero regrets for the attacks he launched over the last few years.
“I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative,” Harry said. “The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected. I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear.”
Royal author blasts Harry for ‘calculated prod at Prince William’
Royal author Rob Jobson was hopeful just like the rest of us that a reconciliation between the king and his youngest son might be in he cards. But that was before the duke’s most recent interview.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Jobson said: “Prince Harry seems to be on a constant quest to remain relevant. By insisting that he ‘didn’t air [his] dirty laundry in public,’ he risks gaslighting the very audience that has watched every revelation unfold in Spare and the Netflix series.
“His remarks about reconciliation — ‘You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth’– land less like a call for healing and more like a calculated prod at Prince William.”
Jobson continued, “By repeatedly invoking his father, King Charles, Harry keeps himself firmly in the royal spotlight. Does he think the public can’t see what’s happening? History cannot be rewritten, and his ventures–from the memoir to streaming deals–look to many like an effort to monetize the monarchy and build his fortune.
“The ‘Harry the man-child’ act is wearing thin. People are no longer blinded by his boyish antics; the more he protests, the more transparent his craving for attention appears. His ongoing references to the king seem designed less for reconciliation than for guaranteed media coverage.”
