Things for Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have only gotten worse over the last few weeks. Several stories and allegations have crept up again about their shady association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

With mounting pressure on the Palace for Prince Andrew to give up his Duke of York title, he finally caved and did that. But the damning accusations haven’t gone away and many members of the public think something more should be done. At the top of that list is that the disgraced prince should not be allowed to stay living in the lavish Royal Lodge residence in Windsor.

Demonstrators have made their way to the area and let their opinions be known about wanting Andrew to get out. But for two royals who reportedly side with the public on that, this has become a real headache for them.

Here’s more on how Prince Andrew’s mere presence in Windsor Park is an issue for Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton).

The Waleses’ new home isn’t far from Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge

William, Kate, and their three children are about to move into Forest Lodge, which isn’t far from Royal Lodge, and like much of the public, they’re not thrilled that Andrew is going to be one of their new neighbors.

According to her Substack “Fresh Hell,” royal biographer Tina Brown claims that the Waleses “can’t abide” Prince Andrew and don’t want him near their new “forever home.”

But they don’t have a choice. Andrew has an iron-clad agreement to stay in Royal Lodge for decades to come. The lease on the property runs out in 2078.

Prince William and Kate aren’t happy about the circus Andrew has created in Windsor

Royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun that Prince William wants “a real line to be drawn under it before he becomes king” and opined, “I don’t think he wants to be living within a couple of miles of someone who’s constantly getting … I mean, today there are demonstrators down there. There are actually protesters outside the house with megaphones, shouting that Andrew should leave his home.”

Dampier added, “I think the public is just seeing day in, day out stories about Andrew holed up in his Windsor home, and William and Kate are living in Windsor. The kids are going to be going to school; It’s just by association. There is a possibility that they would bump into them at various times, but it’s just clearing the decks, trying to get things sorted out, and trying to get this finally resolved before he becomes king.

“If [Andrew’s] still in Royal Lodge when William and Kate became king and queen, then he would have the problem, and he’d be seen as the one having to deal with it. So, it’s best for all concerned if this gets cleared up, finally, in some way, shape, or form, while Charles is king.”

So what can be done? Well, not much since Andrew has made no attempt to relocate and hasn’t entertained the idea of leaving, even when it was reported that the king and the Prince of Wales were trying to push him to do so.

Dampier says that William’s uncle could “possibly go abroad” as he has a mansion in Abu Dhabi. But that would involve Andrew “reading the room and he’s never read a room at all.”
