Prince William Will Have Support Now If He Decides to ‘Oust’ 2 Royal Family Members
By all accounts, Prince William was done with his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, even before the former Duke of York was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Following the arrest, the Palace released a statement from King Charles that read, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.
“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) support the monarch’s statement. In fact, days earlier, a spokesperson for William and his wife said, “I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
Back in September, before King Charles stripped Andrew of his titles, the disgraced royal tried speaking with his nephew following the Duchess of Kent’s Requiem Mass at Westminster Cathedral. However, the Prince of Wales did not look pleased at all that Andrew was trying to talk to him.
Royal author Andrew Lownie told The Mirror that William was “furious” at being ambushed by his uncle at the service, explaining, “He has been at pains to distance himself from his uncle and not be photographed with him. He believes his father has not dealt with him with sufficient firmness and that Andrew — and Sarah Ferguson — have done much to undermine the good work of other members of the royal family.”
It’s also been reported that William is the one who urged his father to do more after he felt the king was not doing enough to punish his brother over his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew’s new residence is on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, more than 100 miles away from London. His life in the royal spotlight is over and he will likely never be seen with the royal family again. But now, some are wondering what the future king’s stance is on Andrew’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The princesses should not have to pay for the sins of their parents. But from now on, every time the sisters are seen anywhere near the royal family, people will be reminded of their mother and father, and that’s something others do not want.
According to Richard Fitzwilliams of the Daily Mail, that means Prince William now has the support of the rest of his family if he has to oust the princesses to save the monarchy.
With all signs pointing to the Prince of Wales taking a “hard line” when he ascends the throne, if it “came to choosing, Zara and Mike would naturally support William and Catherine. If William should feel the need to oust Beatrice and Eugenie” as would Zara’s mother, Princess Anne.
Fitzwilliams added, “They are independent enough to do as they wish. But nobody should doubt that their loyalty, like that of Zara’s indomitable mother, Princess Anne, is first and foremost to the monarchy at all times.”
