Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson‘s names have remained in the headlines for months as the public has learned more and more about their association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Back in October, King Charles stripped his younger brother of his Duke of York title. That move also meant that Andrew’s ex-wife would no longer have her Duchess of York title. Two weeks later, the king took it a step further by removing his sibling’s “prince” title and evicting him from Royal Lodge.

Then, on Feb. 19, Andrew was arrested at his home, causing more embarrassment for the royal family and leading to another statement from the Palace in which King Charles said: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated … In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course … Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

With their parents’ sins being broadcast to the world, there is a lot of uncertainty about what this means for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Beatrice has been keeping a low profile, while Eugenie was photographed at a work event in the UAE in early February. On Feb. 24, Eugenie was snapped in West London during a casual outing with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Some are wondering if the working royals will start to push Beatrice and Eugenie away from the inner circle so that the public isn’t reminded of Andrew and Sarah by seeing their daughters attend events with the family. Now, the question is: Should Beatrice and Eugenie “pull a Brooklyn Beckham” and totally cut off contact with their mother and father?

Royal reporter for Express Fran Winston, believes it’s time for the princess to do just that, writing, “I think the sisters’ only option is to ‘do a Brooklyn’ and cut their appalling parents off once and for all if they want to save their own reputations and maintain their royal status … I think Beatrice and Eugenie would be more than justified in going no contact with both Andrew and Sarah.”

One of the sisters has reportedly already moved that way. It was reported in January that Princess Eugenie, who established The Anti-Slavery Collective to help counter sex trafficking, is upset by Andrew’s refusal to apologize to Epstein’s victims.

A source told the Daily Mail: “There is no contact at all, nothing. It’s Brooklyn Beckham level — she has completely cut him off.”

A friend of Eugenie’s shared with the publication that she and Beatrice have had a difficult time over the past few months seeing their parents removed from royal life but did not reveal what their plans are going forward. At this point, we’re not sure if the princesses even know. They may need to make a decision in the very near future though in case things for their parents get worse.
