Princess Beatrice’s name has been in the news a lot lately as she and her sister, Princess Eugenie, have been forced on into the spotlight and are under a microscope because of their parents’ long association with Jeffrey Epstein.

As if things weren’t bad enough in 2025, when Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was being stripped of his last remaining regal titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, 2026 began even worse for the former prince and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

In January, a fresh batch of Epstein files showing Andrew and Sarah’s names hundreds of times, were released by the U.S. Department of Justice. And at that point, Andrew’s move was accelerated and he was driven more than 100 miles away from Windsor to Sandringham.

With the disgraced royal out of sight and out of mind, King Charles and the rest of the family hoped to switch the news cycles to highlight some of the work they were doing. But on Feb. 19, Andrew was arrested at his Sandringham residence for suspicion of misconduct in public office.

In a statement regarding his brother’s arrest, King Charles, said, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”

One can only imagine how Andrew and Sarah’s daughters feel as it seems something new comes about their parents each day and they are enduring the trickle down effect of being banned from some upcoming family events including the Royal Ascot this summer.

With the public scrutiny building and rumors swirling about her marriage, it’s been reported that Princess Beatrice is considering making a major move to get away from it all. But that move will make her father visiting her nearly impossible.

A source told the Daily Mail, “Moving abroad, most likely to the United States, would be a fresh start for Beatrice and Edo and it would also mean they could give their marriage a kick start and get it back on track. The feeling is that if they stay in the U.K. they will just be sitting ducks because the Andrew and Sarah problem isn’t going to go away. There is the police investigation and if Andrew is charged then there will be a trial and that’s just more attention they can do without. A move to the U.S. would certainly seem obvious. Edo spends a lot of time there so I can easily see them moving there.”

If that happens though, Beatrice won’t be seeing much of her father because as royal journalist Tom Sykes put it, “The Mail is too polite to mention that such a move would have the effect of making it impossible for [Beatrice’s] parents to ever visit them, given the desire of Congress to see them testify.”

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing regarding his relationship with Epstein, but has not made any public comments since his arrest.
