Princess Diana’s Former Bodyguard Says Revelations About ‘Arrogant’ Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Have ‘Only Just Begun’
With mounting pressure over the years and more revelations about his association with Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles, evicted from Royal Lodge, and banished to Wood Farm in Sandringham. On Feb. 19, authorities showed up at that home and took the disgraced royal into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office, which is also tied to his freindship with the convicted sex offender.
While several members of Andrew’s family have repeatedly stated that their thoughts are with Epstein’s victims, King Charles released another statement following his brother’s arrest that read, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.
“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.”
Now, there’s speculation about that investigation and how it will go. And someone who used to work for the royals and knows Andrew says there are more revelations about the ex-prince to come.
Ken Wharfe is a former Metropolitan Police Service officer who served as Princess Diana‘s bodyguard from 1986 to 1993. During his time working for the late royal, he came across Andrew, whom he calls the most “arrogant” human being he’s ever met.
“I did, on a few occasions, have dealings with him in a professional capacity,” Whafe said during an episode of the Suddenly Single podcast. “And I found him to be one of the most arrogant individuals I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting.”
Wharfe added, “Ever since the Epstein crisis that hit the royal family, I’ve taken a personal stand on this. The whole issue of the Duke of York, as he was, and now Mountbatten-Windsor, is excruciatingly toxic, and continues to be.
“There isn’t a day now, in the last six months, where there hasn’t been a story surrounding the (ex) Duke of York, Windsor’s association with Epstein, which has now brought into contact his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. It’s a subject that, as yet, is not finished. It’s only just begun.”
Wharfe isn’t the first person to describe the former Duke of York in not-so-flattering terms. There have been stories coming out almost daily from plenty of people who know or have worked with Andrew willing to share their opinions about him.
Andrew Lownie, who authored the biography Entitled about Andrew and the York family, told People, “Status is everything to him–it’s his only sense of identity,” Andrew “thinks he’s anointed–that it’s deeply unfair people have turned on him.”
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing regarding his relationship with Epstein, but has not made any public comments since his arrest.
