Princess Eugenie Cuts Off Contact With Father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Since He’s Shown No Remorse Amid Epstein Scandal
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has cost him just about everything.
Andrew was forced to step down from his royal duties in 2019 amid the accusations against him. But he still held his Duke of York title, which did not sit well with many people. Finally, in October 2025, Andrew announced that he would relinquish that title, saying, “In discussion with the King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.
“I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
Two weeks later, King Charles brought down the hammer and stripped Andrew of the prince title he had held since birth and ordered him and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to leave their Royal Lodge residence.
Now, it’s being reported that Andrew’s relationship with his youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, has suffered tremendously to the point that she has cut ties with her father. According to these reports, Eugenie, who established The Anti-Slavery Collective to help counter sex trafficking, is upset by Andrew’s refusal to apologize to Epstein’s victims.
A source told the Daily Mail: “There is no contact at all, nothing. It’s Brooklyn Beckham level — she has completely cut him off.”
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield weighed in on the princess’s choice to sever ties with her father, opining, “I think this is clever counsel. We don’t punish children for the sins of their parents, but association matters. It is impossible to look at … ex-prince Andrew’s daughters without being reminded of the scandal and embarrassment he’s brought upon the royal family in recent years.
“Princess Eugenie’s efforts to distance herself are not disloyalty, but self-preservation and the further she steps away, the safer her standing becomes within the monarchy.”
And what about Eugenie’s sister, Princess Beatrice? Andrew’s oldest daughter is still said to be in contact with him.
The Daily Mail’s source explained that “Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the royal family. They aren’t exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn’t trying to walk that line. She’s not speaking to him.”
Beatrice’s daughter was baptized in December and while Andrew attended the actual christening at the church, he was not present at the afterparty held at a pub. It is not known whether Eugenie spoke to her father when they saw each other.
These reports have not been confirmed by anyone other than the publication’s sources. If they are accurate, some believe Princess Eugenie may not be speaking to Andrew publicly so she doesn’t face criticism, but could still have contact with him behind the scenes.
Andrew is set to move out of Royal Lodge in the coming days.
