Queen Camilla has an impressive brooch collection. Like the late queen, King Charles’ second wife has donned plenty of them during her public engagements over the years.

That was the case on Oct. 11, 2025, when Queen Camilla made an appearance to officially open the 2025 Cliveden Literary Festival. She visited the Clock Tower Stage along with British historian and festival founder Simon Sebag Montefiore to launch the event. The queen also hosted a reception welcoming authors, festival supporters, charity partners, and students from the London Academy of Excellence.

For the event, Camilla donned a dark green dress featuring animal print on the sleeves and collar. She added a delicate crown-shaped brooch to her outfit, and many people are still buzzing about the regal accessory.

How much Queen Camilla’s crown brooch is worth

The jewelry and diamond experts at U.K. retailer Steven Stone have taken a closer look at the dazzling piece, digging into its history to uncover everything there is to know about it.

“The design of Queen Camilla’s brooch is reminiscent of a ducal coronet or royal crown,” Maxwell Stone noted. “Crafted in yellow gold, the base is set with shimmering diamonds while the upper edge is adorned with delicate golden pearl-like ornaments. Traditionally, such brooches are worn as emblems of royal status.

“This particular piece was first seen in February 2018, when Queen Camilla — then the Duchess of Cornwall — wore it during a visit to Yorkshire alongside King Charles, who was then-Prince of Wales. Though it doesn’t carry a widely recognized name like some historic royal jewels, the brooch is acknowledged as a symbolic accessory that reflects Queen Camilla’s rank and official role within the royal family. I’d estimate it to be worth $10,000.”

Not the most expensive brooches in the queen’s collection

While that brooch is quite pricey, it’s not the most expensive in Queen Camilla’s collection. The late Princess Diana actually wore one valued much higher years earlier. The queen redesigned an emerald-and-diamond necklace that Diana wore to the Vienna Burgtheater in April 1986. She made it into a brooch.

Regarding that piece, Maxwell Stone told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “This remarkable brooch features approximately four carats of white diamonds, arranged in 18 individual stones, and is crowned by a breathtaking three-carat cabochon-cut green emerald pendant. Once worn as a necklace by Princess Diana, the piece carries not only aesthetic brilliance but deep royal significance.

“What makes it particularly meaningful is its symbolic connection to King Charles — shared by both Diana and Queen Camilla. At its heart are three diamond-encrusted ostrich feathers, the emblem of the Prince of Wales, a title Charles held before ascending the throne.”

The expert concluded, “The jewel’s history stretches back to 1863, when it originally belonged to Queen Alexandra. It later passed through royal hands, gifted by the Queen Mother to Princess Diana upon her marriage in 1981 … The transformation of the necklace into a brooch likely has minimal impact on its value, especially if the redesign was recent and expertly executed. On today’s market, it could be valued at around $130,000, if not more had it remained in its original necklace form.”
