‘Real Housewives of Potomac’: Mia Thornton Booked on Larceny Charges
BravoCon just ended, but the ladies of the Real Housewives franchise are still bringing fresh drama. There has been plenty of legal drama over the last few years, and the ladies of Bravo are keeping the hits coming. Mia Thornton is the latest Bravo star to find herself in handcuffs, and it all happened very dramatically. Thornton, who appeared on The Real Housewives of Potomac through the most recent season, was arrested at an airport and charged with larceny. We have the details.
Why was Mia Thornton arrested?
On November 19, Mia Thornton was apprehended on an open warrant after arriving at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. According to police reports, Thornton was taken into custody and charged with larceny. The arrest stemmed from an October incident.
According to People, the owner of the condo Thornton rented filed a police report on November 6, accusing Thornton of stealing several high-ticket items from a furnished condo she was renting in late October. In the report, the owner states that Thornton vanished from the apartment with a television and furniture pieces valued at $11,000 on or around October 28. It is unclear if Thornton was renting the unit long-term or if it was a short-term rental.
Body cam footage shows a cool, calm, and collected Thornton at the time of her arrest. She told police that she was aware of the active warrant before she was cuffed. She was taken into custody without incident and booked for felony larceny. It is unclear when she’ll be back in court next.
Why isn’t she appearing on the next season of ‘RHOP’?
Mia Thornton spent four seasons on Real Housewives of Potomac before announcing her planned exit in April 2025. At the time, Thornton said she was leaving the show behind to start a new chapter with her family. Thornton moved, with her children, to Atlanta, Georgia. It is unclear whether she severed her business dealings in Washington, D.C., at that time. Thornton was reportedly drawn to the city’s art scene. The city is also an entertainment hub, which surely interests Thornton.
While Bravo fans initially suspected she’d be appearing on The Real Housewives of Atlanta after the move, there has been no announcement. Bravo has not commented on Thornton’s arrest or made any announcement about her future with the network.
