There was more troubling news to come, though.
Travis Clark says he cheated on his wife

Not long after his wife shared her loss, he took to his stories to upload a video revealing he had carried on an affair. The nursing student revealed he had repeatedly cheated on his wife before asking for “privacy and grace” for Katie.
Clark’s upload also stated that he was trying to change “regardless of outcome,” which suggests divorce could be on the table. If the couple splits, it would be a first for the ultra-conservative Christian Bates family. It is unclear exactly why Clark felt the need to issue a public apology on the same day Bates uploaded her emotional video about pregnancy loss.
The couple, who married in December 2021, were just 22 and 20 when they tied the knot. Bates moved to New Jersey following the wedding, where the Clark family is based. In February 2023, their first child, Hailey, was born. In 2024, they welcomed their second child, Harvey.
