Resurfaced Behind-the-Scenes Clip of Prince Harry and King Charles Shows Pure Family Happiness or Something Else?
Years before Prince Harry stepped down from his royal duties, and long before the Duke of Sussex released his memoir Spare, he was singing Queen Camilla‘s (formerly Camilla Parker Bowles) praises.
Harry went from saying Camilla was “not a wicked stepmother” and that “William and I love her to bits” just before she married King Charles, to calling her “dangerous” and a “villain” who he and his brother never wanted their father to marry.
But some who knew Harry before he went rogue, were pretty shocked by what he wrote about Camilla in his book as they remember things much differently and that the prince was actually excited for his father’s wedding.
Now, is a resurfaced clip of Harry actions after King Charles and Camilla’s wedding genuine or is the prince faking his emotions? Here’s what an expert thinks about that.
King Charles former butler says Harrry’s relationship with Camilla wasn’t how the prince described it
Grant Harrold was King Charles’s butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch, his duties included those of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. Harrold also looked after Prince William and Prince Harry whenever the brothers stayed at Highgrove House.
The former royal employee was perplexed by what Harry wrote in his memoir. Harrold was with them behind the scenes and never witnessed any animosity. So for the prince to say he never wanted his dad to marry Camilla struck Harrold as very odd because he remembered how Harry acted after the ceremony.
“At the end of the festivities, Charles and Camilla were catching a flight to head straight to Birkhall [on the Balmoral estate],” Harrold wrote in his book The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service. “We all went outside to wave them off and laughed as we saw William and Harry had decorated their car with ‘Just Married.’ As they drove off through the arches to cheers, the boys raced after the car.”
“The four of them, I promise you, got on so well. And that’s why I don’t understand what Harry’s said, I really don’t understand,” Harrold told The Telegraph. “Because I saw them. I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together.”
He added, “Whenever Harry was around Camilla there was always laughter, she’d be giggling and he’d be giggling and it would be fun. You only have to look at pictures to see that. If it was that awful surely you would not go out of your way to be seen with them.”

After analyzing an old clip of that day that has resurfaced online recently, Stantion who spoke on behalf of Betfair Casino, told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “You can see Prince Harry in the background, looking really animated and full of energy as he throws confetti. His expression is open and genuine. His smile is broad, and the movement of his body shows a kind of carefree joy. It’s the kind of moment that captures him at his most relaxed and playful.
“You also catch a glimpse of King Charles smiling, which is lovely to see. Even though the quality of the footage is a little grainy, his expression looks very warm and Camilla is beaming throughout. Her smile is particularly striking because it’s so natural, complete with crow’s feet and laugh lines: classic indicators of a genuine, heartfelt smile.”
The expert concluded, “What stands out most is the atmosphere of ease and happiness. Despite being a more understated wedding compared to other royal occasions, the body language tells the story: Everyone seems genuinely delighted. Harry’s behavior in particular is full of that mischievous, cheeky energy he was known for in his younger years; playful, a little irreverent, but clearly overjoyed to be part of the celebration.
“Even in such a brief clip, you can see how uplifting the moment was. Harry’s body language radiates elation and a sense of fun, while Charles and Camilla’s smiles show contentment and genuine joy. Together, it paints a picture of a very happy family moment.”
