Resurfaced Clip Shows Meghan Markle Laughing After Princess Charlotte Falls on Balcony
One of the royal family‘s traditions during Trooping the Colour, which is a day celebrating the British monarch’s birthday, is to stand on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and wave to the crowds gathered below as they watch a flypast.
The late Queen Elizabeth II used to have as many family members, young and old, who could fit on the balcony assembled out there with her. Over the years, the children of each generation have given the crowds tons of laughs. But no one was laughing when Princess Charlotte almost fell headfirst on the ground, well almost no one.
Here’s the video that is going viral again. It shows Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, smiling and laughing at the same time the little princess stumbled and began crying, and people have a lot to say about that now.
Meghan was seen smiling when Princess Charlotte stumbled
The video from Trooping the Colour in 2018 shows the royals waiting on the balcony as they are getting ready to see the flypast.
In the clip, Princess Charlotte stands alongside her cousin and in front of her mother when she points at something and loses her balance. In an instant, Kate reached down to grab the then-3-year-old and avoid a disaster. While Charlotte didn’t appear hurt, she did seem a bit stunned and began to cry over what had just happened.
The video was shared by plenty of different outlets on a few different platforms, and many fans couldn’t help but notice that Meghan appeared to be “smirking” in the background when that occurred.
“Everything is so cute in this clip, but Meghan laughing on the back when kid fell,” one person pointed out, while second added, “Meghan smirked and laughed when Charlotte fell.”
A third person fumed, “That’s disgusting Meghan smiling at the little girl falling” and a fourth said, “Anyone else catch Meghan’s smug smile at Charlotte falling? Vindictive and toxic woman.”
But not everyone agreed that the duchess was laughing at the young princess.
“Don’t like Markle, but I don’t think she was laughing at Charlotte,” one person wrote. And a second chimed in: “Stop overreacting. We can clearly see that Camilla was talking to Meghan after the incident and Meghan smiled at Camilla not because of Charlotte.”
What about Prince Harry’s reaction?
Others weren’t just focused on Meghan and pointed to Charlotte’s Uncle Harry’s reaction as he looked to be laughing as well.
“Harry sneered also,” one user commented on a TikTok video, as another chimed in, “It was Harry that pissed me off not so much Meghan.”
“Harry and his wife was laughing at Charlotte’s tumble from the balcony,” a third remarked.
“Both of them are sick buggers,” a fourth person said, while a fifth added: “He’s just as bad.”
Other commenters posted, “What a pair” and “Harry was laughing, too. They’re both vile … so jealous.”
And one user defended the Sussexes and their reactions, opining: “No … I think they are trained to ignore any accidental drama during public events. Meghan was looking at Charlotte and Harry immediately told her not to look, so they both started talking to others and looking above at the planes. Even Charles and William did the same thing.”
