Retired NBA Star Tony Parker Is Selling His Texas Mansion That Has Its Own Waterpark (See It)
NBA superstar Tony Parker retired from the league in 2019 after 18 seasons. For his career, the San Antonio Spurs legend was a six-time All-Star, a 4x NBA champion, and the 2006-07 NBA Finals MVP.
As a player, he earned more than $150 million in salary. In 2004, he signed a four-year, $50 million deal with the Spurs, a four-year, $50 million extension in 2010, and inked a three-year $43 million extension in 2014. In 2018, the athlete signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets.
While he was with the Spurs, Parker built a mega mansion in Texas that features its own waterpark. Here’s more about the fabulous estate and a look inside.
Parker’s waterpark mansion is on the market
Parker had his 53-acre Texas Hill Country estate built in 2007. The property is located in Bourne, Texas, just outside San Antonio. The 9 Rue address is a nod to Parker’s jersey number with the Spurs. The Mediterranean-style home has 13,297 square feet of living space. It boasts a spacious guest house as well and has a total of 10 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
Some of its amenities include a gourmet kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, panoramic windows, a cinema room, a wine cellar, elevator access, a two-car garage, a hair salon, a meditation room, a tennis court, a volleyball court, a gym, and an arcade. But perhaps the most impressive part of this residence is the private backyard waterpark that features pools, spas, slides, grottos, waterfalls, and lazy rivers.
“It was just a dream of mine,” Parker told Homes.com. “I always felt like I was Peter Pan … I grew up in Normandy, went to the ocean almost every day. I loved to swim, and so I thought it would be pretty cool to build something like that for my kids and for my friends.”
Parker owns Château Saint Laurent estate in France
Parker owns another estate in his native France, which he uses for wine-making.
In 2022, the NBA Hall of Famer purchased Château Saint Laurent, which lies just to the east of Avignon in southern France. It dates back to the 14th century, the time of the Avignon Papacy. An underground passage reportedly leads from the estate to the famous Palais des Papes.
Guided tours are offered for visitors to learn all about wine from harvest to bottling, and are invited to tastings where they can savor each flavor sip by sip.
The historic estate offers more than just vineyards as it is also a site for private parties, weddings, and conferences.
“I have always loved the Rhône Valley,” Parker shared via Decanter. “I fell in love with Château Saint Laurent as soon as I saw it, and I am now fully committed to crafting some amazing wines while simultaneously making one of the most incredible reception venues in the South of France available for private use.”
Parker has also teamed up with Michel Reybier, owner of Château Cos d’Estournel, as a partner at Reybier’s Château La Mascaronne in Provence.
