Super Bowl LX is almost upon us as the stage is set with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks playing for the Lombardi Trophy.
This is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX in 2015, which featured NFL superstars like Tom Brady and Russell Wilson. So who are the biggest stars in this year’s game?
Here’s which athlete playing on Sunday has been dominating the attention leading up to kickoff.
This athlete is the most Googled player in the Super Bowl
From Google searches to Instagram engagement and TikTok buzz, one star has topped the rest when it comes to who is the most popular heading into Super Bowl LX, and that is Stefon Diggs.
The New England Patriots wide receiver ranks as the most popular player in this year’s Super Bowl. Bovada analyzed a range of fan interest metrics across both teams’ rosters — including U.S. monthly search volume, home state search interest, social media following, and engagement rates. Diggs has generated 1.22 million Google searches per month in the U.S., alongside 2.5 million Instagram followers, making him the clear fan favorite across every platform.
The wideout was already one of the game’s best wide receivers when his profile was elevated in May 2025 as he and rapper Cardi B hard-launched their relationship with a courtside appearance at a New York Knicks-Boston Celtics NBA playoff game.
Soon after, the two became Instagram official and welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, on Nov. 4, 2025.
Where other players ranked on the list
After Diggs, the most popular player in Super Bowl LX is Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. The second-year signal caller recorded 673,000 monthly searches and a 13% Instagram engagement rate.
Ranking just behind Maye is another Pats player. Long snapper Julian Ashby came in third place. He recorded an impressive engagement rate of 71%. His teammate, safety Craig Woodson, also has a remarkable engagement rate with 75%.
The first Seahawks player on the list is Cooper Kupp. The receiver, who spent several years with the Los Angeles Rams and won Super Bowl LVI in 2022, rounds out the top five with strong search demand and a sizeable social following of 828,000 on Instagram and 450,000 monthly searches.
The Seahawks quarterback, Sam Darnold, is in sixth place as the most popular player. Darnold racked up 550,000 monthly searches and has 366,000 followers on IG. The veteran spent his first three seasons with the New York Jets. He was then traded to the Carolina Panthers before spending one season with the San Francisco 49ers and one with the Minnesota Vikings. He signed with Seattle in 2025.
One of Darnold’s favorite targets, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, takes the seventh spot with 165,000 monthly searches and 683,000 followers.
New England Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss is eighth, Pats kicker Andy Borregales is ninth, and Seahawks safety Julian Love round out the Top 10 as the most popular players in Super Bowl LX.
