‘RHOSLC’ Meredith Marks Claimed Heather Gay Got ‘a Lot of People in Trouble’ Over ‘Lie’ About Black Eye
Meredith Marks is dredging up the drama surrounding cast member Heather Gay’s black eye. During season three of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Gay woke up with a black eye. While she denied knowing what happened for a year, Gay eventually revealed that former cast member Jen Shah gave her the shiner. Marks said she found it hypocritical that Gay called her a liar this season when her story about the eye allegedly got people in trouble.
The drama over a black eye rocked ‘RHOSLC’
During a group trip to San Diego, Gay greeted her castmates in the morning with a black eye. To the shock of the other women, she said she didn’t know how she got it. She maintained this story at that season’s reunion.
“I don’t know how I got the black eye,” she said at the season three reunion. “I blacked out. I don’t know what happened. … I cannot speak to anything other than I walked to my room and I blacked out and I woke up with a black eye.”
At the next season’s reunion, Gay admitted that Shah gave her the black eye. She said she felt too scared of Shah to reveal the truth.
“I had been covering for her for three years, I wasn’t going to stop at the black eye,” she said. “I was that in, and I was too scared to say anything.”
She apologized to everyone for concealing the truth.
“I’m sorry to you, I’m sorry to you guys, I’m sorry to the network, I’m sorry to the audience,” she said, adding, “I didn’t know how to navigate it myself. I knew that it was becoming bigger and more than I could handle. It was a horrible situation.”
Meredith Marks said Heather Gay got people in trouble over her story
In a recent conversation with RHOC star Tamra Judge on the Two T’s in a Pod podcast, Marks discussed Gay’s problems with her during season six. Gay called Marks out for accusing her of lying.
“Heather’s whole bone to pick with me this season was I said that she lied, which I actually … I said in the scene, ‘It was a mistake, I didn’t mean to say that,’ because I didn’t mean to call Heather a liar in that moment,” she told Judge. “Now in retrospect, having seen everything, maybe things have changed a bit, but the big issue was her, me saying ‘you lied,’ when we know she lied about a black eye for years.”
She revealed that people got in trouble for the situation.
“A lot of people were, you know, looked into because of it,” she said. “She got a lot of people in a lot of trouble because of it.”
Upon reflection, Marks said she should have doubled down and called Gay a liar.
Heather Gay spoke about fighting with Meredith Marks at the reunion
During the season six reunion, Gay and Marks fought. Gay said this was a particular low point of the season.
“Low point was at reunion, when Meredith and I really got it into it,” Gay told Reality Tea. “I did not think it would go there, and it was for sure the lowest point.”
She said that the reunion was so chaotic that she didn’t notice Andy Cohen walk off the stage in frustration.
“Listen, you know, there’s been a lot of talk about Andy walking off, and I can tell you that we did not even notice when he did because there was a lot going on,” Heather stated. “You know, we have been frenemies for six years. And there is a lot in the water, you know, and so Season 6 reunion, we … we go back to Season 1’s pains.”
