RHOSLC’s Meredith Marks Slams Castmates’ Accounts of Airplane Incident on WWHL
On the sixth season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Meredith Marks’ account of an alleged incident on an airplane varies greatly from her castmates’. Marks said that while she grew frustrated with cast member Britani Bateman, she doesn’t think she crossed the line into bullying. Other cast members disagreed and described the situation as intense and upsetting. Marks recently spoke further about the incident.
‘RHOSLC’ cast members claim Meredith Marks bullied Britani Bateman on an airplane
On the Season 6, Episode 11 episode of RHOSLC, the castmates discuss an off-camera incident that occurred on a flight back to Salt Lake City. Heather Gay described a “very intense” interaction between Marks and Bateman. While on a yacht, Bateman brought up rumors about Marks’ husband’s infidelity. Gay alleged that Marks ranted about Bateman for much of the flight.
“There would be brief moments of peace, and then it would slowly pick up again,” she said in a confessional. “And it would kind of crescendo.”
Whitney Rose recalled Marks “taunting” Bateman and described her behavior as “diabolical.” The other castmates, including Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas, who dislike Bateman, reportedly tried to console her after the flight. Cosby noted that Marks “spiraled for hours” about Bateman. Marks has denied these accounts.
“I got on the plane. I vented to Lisa [Barlow] for a little bit. I put on a movie. I fell asleep. I woke up,” she said. Still, she conceded that her reaction “was not right time, not right place.”
Meredith Marks later shared her side of the airplane incident
In a recent episode of What What Happens Live, Marks addressed the airplane incident. When asked why the other women have such a different story from her, Marks said all the accounts contradicted each other.
“First of all, it’s not just a different story from me,” she told Andy Cohen. “Their stories all vary from each other.”
She noted that their timelines didn’t add up and denied ever speaking to Bateman on the plane. Marks added that she’s sticking to her story.
“I don’t care if you don’t believe me,” she told viewers who don’t believe her. “I know the truth.”
Some sources say she will not return to the Bravo series
After the plane incident, some RHOSLC cast members reportedly don’t want to film with Marks. A source noted that the other women are standing firm in their accounts of what happened on the plane.
“She can try to tell her version of events as she’s done on the show, but think about it, when someone like Mary Cosby, who absolutely cannot stand Britani, is coming to her defense over what happened… it just doesn’t seem like that would happen if it wasn’t true,” an insider told Radar Online. “Also, so many of the women share the same story, and Meredith is the only one who seems to differ on what happened. Lisa Barlow has mostly backed her, which kind of reeks of them having some sort of agreement before the season to have each other’s backs – but aside from that… everyone seems on the same page.”
The source also added that Marks’ role in the Season 7 cast is not certain yet.
“There are rumors floating around stating she was downgraded, and she rejected that,” they said. “While I can’t confirm that, I can say that I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t return next season.”
At this point, though, information about next season’s cast is not yet available.
